Whale looked at Emma, “Emma you’re pregnant.”
Emma recoiled, “What? No, that’s not possible.”
Whale nodded, “I ran the blood myself, and blood doesn’t lie.”
Emma sat back down, “H-How? I’m on birth control.”
Whale sighed, “it’s effective but it’s not perfect. And you restarted the birth control not that long ago. I know some brands advertise only a week taking the pill and you're safe from pregnancy but some take weeks, even months, to be truly effective.”
Whale looked at Emma, “Look you have options. Of course no matter what you want to do, it’s protected.”
Emma shook her head, “I’m not going to go that route.. but thank you.”
Emma sighed, “Can we find out how far along I am?”
Whale nodded, “Let me just get the ultrasound machine.”
Emma sat back and placed her hand on her still flat stomach.
Whale re-entered the room and set the machine up. Emma lifted her top and winced at the cold gel.
Whale moved the scope around until he paused, pressed a few buttons and smiled. There on the screen was a little bean with a thumping heart.
Emma felt the tears running down her cheeks but she didn’t try and stop it.
Whale hmmed, “I think its safe to say you’re pretty early on, maybe 4 weeks.”
Emma nodded, “Thank you. I umm.. I just need a bit of time.”
Whale nodded in understanding, “Well how about you come back in a few weeks, we can do a check in and see about the stitches.”
Emma nodded and got dressed.
Emma emerged from the back and smiled where she saw Regina and Dani playing hand games while they waited for her.
Regina noticed Emma first and then pointed to her to get Dani’s attention. Dani immediately ran towards her Momma and jumped into her arms.
Dani buried her face in Emma’s neck, “You ok Momma?”
Emma kissed Dani’s head and rubbed her back, “Momma is 100% ok.”
Regina looked Emma in the eye and didn’t see any lie. Regina sighed in relief and wrapped Emma and Dani into her arms.
“Alright, I think it’s time to head home.”
Emma nodded and took Regina’s hand into hers as they left the hospital and headed home.
It’s been about two and a half weeks. Dani’s started school and loves it. Regina is getting used to living in the house with Emma. And Emma is doing her best to hide her pregnancy. She has a few ideas on how to let Regina know since the bouts of morning sickness are getting hard to hide and cover up.
Emma decided to tell Dani first, a few days ago, and made her promise to keep it a secret. Dani and Emma were giddy and always smiling. Dani wanted to tell her Mama but pinky promised her Momma she wouldn’t.
Regina wanted to know what was going on but couldn’t be upset with how cute it all was.
It was time for Emma to get her stitches out and she decided to go early in the morning, while Regina and Dani were both sleeping. It took a lot of work to convince Regina to stay home and sleep in with Dani, instead of coming with her to the hospital. Finally Regina relented and let Emma go when Emma told her she would be the one waking Dani, who disliked being disturbed from a peaceful sleep.
The morning of Emma left Regina a note just in case she woke up before she got back.

While with Whale she received an ultrasound of the baby and smiled, tucking the printed photo into her purse.
On the drive home Emma was thinking of ways to surprise Regina with this news. Last time with Dani she didn’t really get to do a fun reveal so she decided to have some fun today.
When Emma was headed home she stopped at Granny’s and picked up some fresh cinnamon buns and got them to go.
As Emma pulled into the driveway another idea hit her. Emma smiled and called up August to get him here as soon as possible.
Emma entered the door and smiled that the house was still quiet. Emma but the cinnamon buns in the oven to keep them warm. She knew it was too subtle but the meaning made her chuckle.
Emma checked on Dani and saw she was still asleep, so she went to her and Regina’s room and saw Regina was just waking up.
Emma smiled and slid on top of Regina, “Morning.”
Regina smiled and stretched, “Good Morning.”
Emma kissed Regina and cupped her cheek. Regina sighed into the kiss, “I love you.”
Emma placed another kiss on Regina’s lips, “I love you more.”
Regina shook her head, “No I do.’
Emma smiled shaking her head, “Nah, I think I do.”
Regina then rolled Emma onto her back while she hovered over her, “I love you to the moon and back.”
Emma tucked a strand of hair behind Regina’s ear, “I love you to another galaxy and back.”
Regina then lent down and kissed Emma, starting with her lips and moving down her neck towards her covered breasts, “I love you to another universe and back.”
Regina then played dirty and pinched Emma’s nipple through her shirt and bra, breaking Emma’s train of thought.
Regina continued her ministrations until she decided to speed things along, needing Emma before Dani wakes up.
Regina quickly stripped Emma of her clothes and she removed her pajamas. She was already at half mast and as soon as Emma rolled onto her knees Regina was fully hard.

They sat in bliss for a few extra minutes before Emma got up and headed to the shower, “I have buns in the oven keeping warm. Grab one if you’re hungry. And see if Dani is up, she shouldn’t sleep much longer or she’ll never nap.”
Regina nodded, “I’ll check on Dani first.”
Emma nodded and took a quick shower.
When Emma was done Regina hopped in and Emma used the time to show Dani the ultrasound and again swear her to secrecy. Emma then ran Dani through her plan.
Once Regina was out of the shower and sitting with an over sugared Dani, Emma faked a work call.
Emma took the call in the spare room and closed the door. While in there she took pictures of the room and mentally designed it. In a few hours it’s going to look 100% different.
Emma emerged from the room and sighed, knowing Regina would ask what’s wrong.
Emma shook her head, “Just work stuff. I’m going to be swamped today.”
And just on que Dani whined, “But you said we could go to the park!”
Emma looked at Dani, “I know but we can go another day, I promise.”
Regina hated seeing her little girl sad so she said, “How about you and I go to the park today and let Momma work. Then we can go all together another day.”
Dani pretended to think and said, “Fine. But promise we all go.”
Emma crossed her heart, “I promise sweetheart”
Regina nodded, “Then it’s settled. Dani darling go get dressed, I’ll get dressed too and we will go to the park and have a great day.”
Emma nodded and hugged whispering in her ear Dani, “Great job baby.”
Dani smiled and skipped to her room.
Regina looked at Emma, “What did you promise her?”
Emma bit her lip, “Ice cream at Any Given Sundae.”
Regina rolled her eyes and went to their room to get dressed. Emma then smiled and looked at her phone, August just landed and was getting the truck she rented for him. He was going to the store for the things she ordered a few days ago.
Regina and Dani left to the park and Emma was moving the few items from the spare room.
When the doorbell rang Emma smiled and ushered August in.
August hugged Emma and congratulated her on the second baby. Emma smiled and placed a hand on her only just slightly round belly.
August knew what Emma’s plan was and didn’t delay and longer, they had a lot of work to do before Regina and Dani get back.
Regina and Dani were at the park all day, playing, watching the clouds, feeding the ducks, playing some more. Now Dani begged for Granny’s and of course Regina relented. It was past lunch time and they needed to eat anyway.

Emma and August were almost done. The paint was drying, the windows were open to get rid of as much paint smell as possible, and August was putting the crib together. Emma called a favor from a old friend Ella and had a few NBA styled jersey’s made. On the back of one Dani’s name and her birth year, on the second was the name space was left blank but the year on this jersey was 20. Emma smiled and hung the jersey’s in frames.
Since Emma wasn’t sure of the baby’s gender she decided to go with yellow, grey, and white. She was lucky that August was good with painting and was able to do a zigzag multicolored pattern. Emma felt the walls were dry enough and hung the two jerseys. August just finished the crib and shook it to make sure it was sturdy.
Emma helped August move the crib against the wall and center it. Emma bought a large chair to go into the corner and a few stuffed animals. She figured the other things they would need she and Regina would buy together.
Emma hugged August and thanked him, giving him all of her specialty beer that is only purchasable in Vermont. August smiled and took the gift.
August cleaned up the trash and told Emma to keep the windows open as long as possible to get rid of the smell and to get the paint to dry.
Emma nodded and walked August to the door. Emma smiled and took another shower. When she was finished she checked her phone and saw a text from Regina that they were on their way home with ice cream.
Regina pulled into the driveway and looked back at a sleepy Dani. Regina tapped Dani and told her we’re home.
Dani unbuckled herself and jumped out of the car. Regina smiled and watched as her daughter bounced into the house, sleepiness gone.
Regina locked the car and entered the house. Regina could hear Dani talking to Emma and chuckled. Regina entered their room and sniffed, it smelled like paint but it wasn’t super strong. Regina shook her head and took a super quick shower.
While in the shower she could hear Dani’s bathroom shower also going and knew Emma was giving Dani her bath now.
Regina exited the shower to see a note from Emma. Regina looked around but Emma wasn’t in the room. Regina read the note, “Put the blindfold on. Then wait”
Regina smirked and did as instructed. But instead of Emma’s footsteps she heard Dani’s. Dani was smiling and told her Mama, “no peaking!”
Regina fixed the blindfold and held her hands up in surrender. Dani then tapped Regina’s thigh and said, “Hand please.”
Regina lowered her hand and felt her little girls smaller one take hers. Regina was lead out of the room and down the hall.
The room smelled more of paint but she couldn’t see. Emma then spoke, “Thank you baby girl. You’ve been such a good secret keeper and helper!”
Dani beamed, “You welcome Momma!”
Dani then skipped out the room and into the living room where she turned cartoons on.
Regina lifted a brow, “Secret keeper?”
Emma nodded even though Regina couldn’t see, “Yup.”
Emma then took Regina’s hands and pulled her forward. She wrapped Regina’s hands around the top of the crib bars and kissed Regina’s cheek, slowly removing the blind fold.
Regina’s eyes adjusted and she gasped snapping her head all around. Regina’s eyes filled with tears. Regina then looked to see what her hands were wrapped around, and she let out a sob. Regina leant forward and grabbed from inside the crib a sonogram. Regina turned to Emma, “You’re.. you..?”
Emma took Regina’s free hand and placed it on the teeny tiny bump, “We.. we are having another baby.”
Regina rubbed her thumb over the bump where Emma was holding her hand. Regina then looked at the sonogram again and pulled Emma into a kiss by the neck. Regina backed Emma up until she sat in the chair.
As Emma sat Regina knelt and placed her head on Emma’s thigh while she kissed, rubbed, and spoke to their baby. Emma ran her hands through Regina’s hair and let Regina savor this moment.

Dani came in a few minutes later and saw her Momma on the chair and her Mama on the floor. Dani shrugged and joined her Mama on the floor sitting in her lap. Regina wrapped a arm around Dani’s waist and kissed her head. Dani smiled up at her Momma, who smiled back and leant down to kiss Dani.
Regina knew this was the perfect moment, her family all together, yet still growing. Regina would be happy if she never had to leave this moment. Nothing in the world could undo the happiness she is feeling in this exact moment.
