Atlas Emergency Broadcast of December 84

The Atlas Emergency Broadcast of December 84 was a broadcast transmitted on December 4, 84 AGW by Ruby Rose, the daughter of the leader of Team STRQ and the leader of Team RWBY of Beacon Academy. The transmission lasted 2 minutes and 21 seconds, after which the message was cut off by an unknown cause. It was broadcast from what is presumed to be Amity Colosseum, with most information gathered from the broadcast still unconfirmed.[1]

Contents and situation
The situation behind the broadcast was unnatural in that the Cross-Continental Transmission System was offline due to the collapse of Beacon’s attached CCT tower; as such, it would have been impossible for the broadcast to occur naturally. The Government of Vale believes that Amity Colosseum was used to broadcast the message, as it is the only object any of the four kingdoms have that could be quickly retrofitted to fit the purpose of a communications tower and work. The broadcast[2] had stated that a number of rumours surrounding the Battle of Beacon and the presumed Battle of Haven were true, both battles of which Team RWBY had partaken in [3], and that multiple fairy tales such as the Story of the Seasons and The Infinite Man have basis in reality.
The broadcast had also stated that the Kingdom of Atlas was under attack by the same forces that caused the battles of the Beacon and Haven Academies, with an explicit warning to not panic, as these forces had been around “for centuries.”
Aftermath and controversy
Almost immediately after the broadcast was interrupted, a level two Grimm attack was recorded in the City of Vale as well as Patch. [4] These attacks were repelled within six hours, with an unexplained shockwave appearing on Vale’s seismic sensors roughly two hours later.[5] Investigation into the cause of this shockwave is still ongoing, but experts believe that this shockwave came directly from a massive explosion within the continent of Solitas due to the timing of the seismic sensor activation as well as sensor activation on buoys across the Valean coast.[6]
News networks such as the Vale News Network and VOX News have called into doubt the validity of the broadcast’s contents, fuelling more discontent within the city of Vale.[7][8][9] Professor Glynda Goodwitch of Beacon Academy has not responded to these claims, and has neither confirmed nor denied them as being valid.
Grimm activity within the Kingdom of Vale as a whole has risen 18% since the broadcast ended, and there have been conspiracies circulating within the Valean local radio network that the Government of Vale had intentionally cut off the broadcast.
