Summary
Negan embodied the missing puzzle piece of Carl’s high school life; kindness, approachability, companionship, and the wisdom of someone who wanted the best for Carl. He was a genuine friend; uncensored, honest, and he could be a royal pain in the ass, but Carl needed him as much as he needed oxygen.
After the apocalypse, Carl resigned to never seeing Negan again. The survival part of his brain all but erased the Negan part. He barely thought about him.
That is, until that one fateful day kneeling in the clearing lit up by the blinding beams of enemy trucks, awaiting his fate.
They were a great team before; how will they face new threats together after three years apart?

Summary
Outside of the relatively sheltered walls of Alexandria the world around them continues to change as life adapts to a new way and a new currency. But even before the world ended, humans were, and continued to be, the most valuable form of trade.
Aka negan & co. take out out a merry band of human traffickers. Only they aren't expecting what they ultimately stumble across, or to find someone they know. Negan and Carl form an unlikely bond after he saves him from unimaginable depravity.

Carl was 17 when the apocalypse started. Two years into it, he's separated from his family at Terminus and thrown into a box car with a stranger, still reeling from the events of the previous night. Facing almost certain death, he has no choice but to befriend the man who he's found himself with. That stranger turns out to be a total prick, but is also oddly concerned and protective over him.
