Summary
The Ghosts in Atlantis are bored because Rodney is off on a mission on the dinosaur planet. Suddenly the ghosts hear that an energy beast has consumed one of their own! They need to alert Atlantis to this threat while trying to deal with this emergency. This answer is a challenge to write a spooky story that includes three V’s. And another challenge to write a Halloween story with my assigned prompt “a spooky pier”. One more challenge will be revealed at the end.

Even after Rodney had stopped the steady influx - using three computers at once and turning bright red from the effort - there were far too many Sheppards to fit in one room. So, they’d ended up taking them in batches to the Mainland, where they leaned and slouched and prowled like so many bored lions, relaxed on the surface but chockful of claws when roused.
