They started moving slowly along the path, Charlotte keeping her hand on Imogen's arm and Donovan walking a half step behind them as if he was ready to catch her if she fell again. Imogen focused on putting one foot in front of the other while her body gradually remembered how to function. The fog had cleared completely now, she noticed. The crisp, cool air was filled with the smell of autumn leaves, and she wondered vaguely where all that thick gray fog had gone so quickly. The park looked different somehow, though she couldn't quite put her finger on why, the paths seeming narrower than she remembered and the lampposts fewer and farther between.
