Summary
The desperation in Hayley's voice was what called me to come over.
Even though I knew that going to her place was out of the question and out of the way, I only thought about how much she needed me. How I was the only one she could turn to because all the people she relied on weren't around. But I still wondered why I would be the only person for her to call. I was far away. No where near where she was.
And yet I still showed up at her doorstep.

This wasn’t fair and he knew it.
She was in the corner, hugging her knees to her chest and unable to speak because the only sound that escaped her lips were the gasps of breaths she took as she sobbed. Near her feet were dozens of crumpled photos from happier times and used tissues that had tried to clean the tears that continued to fall from her eyes. Then there was him, beside her to pick up the pieces and wishing he could’ve done anything to stop her from hurting. But he couldn’t have prevented this, no matter how much he wanted to. She never saw this coming and neither did he. How were they to know?
How were they to know that the two people she loved so dearly would throw her away as if she were nothing but some fucking piece of trash?
She didn’t deserve this.
