After all, he isn't human. And even though the people of Fontaine at large accept him, experiences of the past make him wary and hesitate to reveal too much of himself.
And as if the prophecy hadn't been big enough of a problem, he now has to navigate the consequences of regaining his full authority. And just when things finally seem to go the way he wants them to go, happy with the man he loves, everything seems to go awry again.
Saving the life of a heavily injured Wriothesley and creating a one-sided mating bond to do so is probably the least of his new problems.
