The emperor had no choice but to accept peace with them, and thus the kingdoms of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits and the Brotherhood of Gold were established. Two kingdoms coexisting in perfect harmony.
But all good things must come to an end. LBD had been defeated long ago, but her sectarian acolytes were still alive and seeking revenge for their goddess, so they hid, waiting for the perfect moment to strike against the sun and the moon. This moment came when the two rulers were filled with joy at the birth of the egg of their future child, and the egg was stolen, leaving only crumbs of stone behind.
The suffering consumed the kings, who vowed to destroy every last follower of LBD with the greatest of suffering.
Five years later, a little demon monkey decides to go to the parade of the rulers he so admired.

Should a Demon or Person of High Status find that they have too many suitors to handle individually, they may hold a Courting Tournament. They could format the tournament however they wished, but there were 3 laws enforced by heaven themselves and insisted upon by The Golden Cicada;
Murder was Forbidden.
Should Said Demon be holding a Courting Tournament, Courtnapping is to be considered inappropriate and automatically disqualifies the offending Suitor.
And Lastly, The Demon may impart a Champion to play in the Tournament in their stead, should they actually choose none of the suitors, however, Said Champion must actually win in order to ensure the Demon's martial freedom for the span of 350 years, and after said amount of time, The Demon would legally be considered eligible again, and may hold another tournament or participate in other Courting Traditions.
Wukong hated holding Courting Tournaments. And now he had Mk, how can he possibly keep his successor safe while they're surrounded by Monsters?!
Macaque, his beloved mate, was long dead... Wukong misses him.

*Written mostly before I watched the latest season, but I did some adjusting to make it fit.*
After everything that's happened with the pillars and his conflicting emotions about Monkey King, Macaque decides to take a small sabbatical to check on his theater and dojo. He's been away from it for a long while since living on Flower Fruit Mountain and he needs a bit of time to sort out these weird, conflicting, and quite frankly terrifying emotions he has going on towards a particular FFM resident.
He's... Still not sure where he stands with the great sage. So for now, he plans on doing what he does best. Avoiding his problems. He just doesn't expect that on week three of avoiding the issue he would end up adopting a random white furred monkey demon cub. One that looks haunting like it might actually be his with an extra set of ears and everything. But he thinks he would have remembered giving birth to a cub, so that's literally impossible.
But he doesn't mind letting everyone else think that.

The world shaping around him as it swirls and twirls, to form a scenery of ancient times. A time long forgotten by the world. Flowers stretched in front of him in a gorgeous field, colors of pink, red, and yellow spread out in front of him as he reached forward.
His hand connected with the vision, but as soon as that happened, his body felt as if it were falling, the sinking feeling in his gut becoming more prominent.

The excitement is because he's been wanting another mentor, not because it's Tony Stark. The awe is the most normal of the four reactions, being that the kid looks up to him (Fuck). The anxiety is because the boy was worried that multiple mentors was a deal breaker. The resounding yes is after the kid asks the other mentors.
