After all, it’s not every day that you’re faced with a Night Fury, a Nadder, and one suspiciously nice Astrid Hofferson at once, and make it out alive.
Oh, and the Night Fury is apparently his best friend and he’s the Chief of Berk now. Last Hiccup remembers, he was fifteen and not even allowed out during Dragon Raids.

Even months after the forces of Hybern were defeated, the whole continent still suffers from the consequences the war left. Cities destroyed, lives lost, and the fae are still trying to recover from this stain left in their world history. One of the payments that still had to be collected was how when during this war, the High Lord Rhysand, in exchange for the help of the Darkbringers from the Court of Nightmares, promised to let the residents of the Hewn City to come and go from the border of Velaris as they wished. The promise went forgotten for the first months after the war, but now the Court of Nightmares decided to collect this debt, since themselves had honored their end of the bargain, the City of Starlight should do the same.
To guarantee that no treacheries were to happen, an ambassador should be sent from the Court of Nightmares to report if Velaris would really welcome it's visitors. Azriel, as the Spymaster of the Court, should be the one to secure that this ambassador shall not betray Velaris trust or safety in any way. However, the new Ambassador being an old face from his youth, one that he almost hoped he had forgotten after a bitter rupture, this job may end up being too much for the Shadowsinger.
