Starting off as a comic relief character, Sallec's character becomes a full blown side story, with his very own chapters dedicated to telling his story rather than Ash's journey.

Shauna, a girl who's as much of a beginner as her childhood friend, also gets to travel on an unexpected journey, but with a different goal in mind, despite unsure what she wants.
Calem, nicknamed Xavier, the son of the former Champion and a former Kalos Queen, starts his journey with his partner Froakie, until he comes across an unexpected visitor.
And Tsukamaete Satoshi, nicknamed Ash, a Kantonian boy that arrived with Pikachu as they're preparing for Kalos League, also comes with an unexpected visitor.
