Stede gets to the living room, and sure enough, the plate is sitting on the edge of the hearth, right where he remembers leaving it. It is, as Louis and Alma have told him, utterly devoid of cookies, but there are enough crumbs remaining to render his current working theory invalid.
They definitely put out a plate of cookies, then. And there is definitely a plate with no cookies now. And somehow, in between those two points in time, the cookies… disappeared.

Arts and crafts day goes extremely awry when Stede, Alma, Louis, and Lucius are somehow pulled from 2025 into the old oil seascape they embellished together. Unfortunately, what they added to the waves was a 1717 pirate battle surrounded by vicious hungry sea monsters.
Now Stede's the captive of a mouldy maniac, spared from threats of gruesome torture only as long as he keeps sharing all the Mozart and Bach he can remember from the future, while Lucius and the kids were saved from becoming sabre-toothed shark poo by the crew of the legendary Blackbeard, who is really nothing like the stories.
Sometimes you find your family in very unexpected places. And sometimes a mutiny and a velvety suit help.

As soon as the first few seconds of the melody rang out, Louis watched as Ed’s whole body froze and tensed before he looked up at Louis slowly, his usually warm eyes glazed over with something he had never seen before. Louis couldn’t help but wonder what he’d done wrong.
“Where did you get that from?” Ed asked, his voice strained, almost unrecognisable from his usual friendly tone. Maybe Louis should have been worried at seeing this other side of Ed, one he’d never known existed, but instead he was hit by a realisation as a wave of adrenaline washed over him. Ed knew this song!
Louis is determined to find the source of a song that had taken the internet by storm, unfortunately he doesn’t realise that doing so would result in knowing things about his dad’s past that he never wished to know.
