Rubble had been cleared, people still gripped their kunai’s before opening the door. The war is over, the world has been saved, the winners celebrated in their hospital tents, finally free to mourn those left behind.
Yet Sakura still tasted blood in her mouth. Anyone too close got her feeling like a caged animal and the tents were still up. She hated it.
The tents. The soldier's homes when everything ended. Tsunade had begun her efforts to rebuild the hospital, but the able-bodied wanted beds, homes, warmth and her shisho didn’t have the heart to deny them despite it all. So– apartments were built, they were shitty and crooked and thin-walled, but slowly housing more and more.
It was stupid how easy the thought had stopped her hands from shaking.
