𝐇𝐘𝐔𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐍 𝐇𝐄𝐄 is adamant on paying off the debt she's left with, going as far in desperation as taking the invitation of a suited man. He wanted to be a pillar of support for Su-bong, he wanted to be the one to lift him out of this mess, but the truth was… Nam-gyu had no idea what he was doing. He had never cared for a person in this way before. He had never… felt this way for someone else before- this desire to care for them, this sense of protectiveness and concern, this way that Su-bong was taking up space in his mind and in his heart. It was all so new to him, so strange and confusing, that he had no idea if he was doing any of it right; it frustrated and scared and angered him all at once, knowing that he wanted- he needed- to do something, but not knowing how.
He thought about something Su-bong had said, through his delirium the night before- “Maybe my divine intervention was this- finding my way back to you.” Nam-gyu wondered if Su-bong even remembered saying it, and if he did, if he had truly meant it. And if he had… Nam-gyu feared that he might only end up disappointing the both of them.
__A sequel to “i am here and i’ll lead you home”, where Nam-gyu and Su-bong learn to navigate their lives after the games, while trying to understand this new relationship growing between them, and their feelings for each other.

As their hunt for MGcoin continues, the line between reluctant alliance, revenge, and something strangely close to care begins to blur.

Nam-gyu turns his head to look at him— the TV’s ambient glow soft against his face as the credits roll. Thanos suddenly gets a lump in his throat.
“I’m getting kind of tired, man. How about we pack this up for the night. Yeah?”
Nam-gyu’s eyebrows furrow, and Thanos is worried that the other man can see right through him. Luckily, he heaves a self suffering sigh and starts to drag the extra blankets and pillows off the couch.
He gathers the bundle in his arms and turns away, “Fine. But I’m picking the first movie next time. Make sure to take off your socks before you go to bed. They’re disgusting.”
Thanos scoffs and leans back into the couch cushions. Watching Nam-gyu leave out of the corner of his vision. The moment that he hears the door to their shared room (and god, that really doesn’t help) shut, he presses the heel of his palm into one of his eyes.
Fuck.

It was his fault, really. If he had just voted O like he’d been told, there wouldn’t have been any fight. But really, he wanted to get out of this godforsaken place. Was that such a crime? To get out of the building with all his limbs intact? Sure, the money wasn’t enough, but his life mattered more. Thanos and Nam-gyu had to realise that.

When the fighting started, Nam-gyu jumped at the weakest person in the O group he saw. Of course, he would have pummeled straight at Min-su, if the coward didn't run away the moment things got heated. Nonetheless, he got some good hits in, himself suffering little damage, before he heard Thanos yell MG Coin’s name at full volume. As he turned his head around to see what all of this was about, the YouTuber’s face was already swinging lifelessly to the floor, with deep blue complexion and red marks on his neck. Thanos on top of him. They did it. An X was eliminated, and the vote was in their favor. Nam-gyu decided to waste no time, he yelled at full lungs' capacity that they should stop before the guards come in. And after that, everything was a blur.
After the bathroom fight, Thanos lives, but they leave the games anyway. With fresh blood on his hands, pathetic spare change in his pocket and a hammering hangover, Nam-gyu is forced to face the reality alone, yet again. Until a miracle happens, and he meets up with Thanos again. For better or for worse, he makes sure he will hang around this time.

"Thanos," he says, louder this time, and Su-bong's head snaps upward, and the blade drops to the floor with a sharp clink, small drops of blood dotting the tile. For several drawn out moments, neither of them move. Nam-gyu remains in the doorway, eyes wide and mouth agape, and Su-bong remains huddled in the corner, matching his expression to a T.
But finally, Nam-gyu snaps out of it, and when he takes a step forward, Su-bong recoils harshly, like a wounded animal. His unscathed arm flies upward, almost as if to shield him from potential harm.
"Thanos," Nam-gyu repeats, almost inaudibly. "Honey. Hey— hey, don't— none of that." With a hint of caution, Nam-gyu steps forward some more, leaving the bottles on the counter. He kneels down in front of Su-bong, grabbing his wrist with as much gentleness as he can muster and pulling it down and toward him.

Su-bong’s free arm slowly snakes around Nam-gyu, so that his hand is resting on the small of his back. Nam-gyu bows his head, eyes fluttered shut, lips parted. He continues to move slowly against Su-bong’s hips, thighs trembling. His hair falls over his face in strands as sweat trickles down his temples. Even with his eyes closed, he can feel Su-bong’s gaze on him, infatuated and worshiping.
Gentle fingers run up Su-bong’s thighs, reverent of the raised tissue. Su-bong shudders, breath hitching. His eyes are big and shiny and vulnerable.
“You’re beautiful too, Su-bong,” he says, just as quiet. As if speaking too loud will cause the atmosphere to crumble.
Su-bong shakes his head, slow and pitiful. His lower lip wobbles just slightly, like he’s about to start crying.
“You are,” he insists, palms pressed flat against either side of his waist. “You’re the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen.”

Summary
Within the chaos of Mingle, Thanos loses his drugs. Now, having to deal with the reality of the game sober, Thanos decides to vote X, ending the game.
Now, outside of the games, Thanos deals with his drug addiction and fame. Nam-gyu must face his mental health issues and poverty while being in an abusive relationship. The rest of the squad must live with the trauma of the games, compounded by their existing issues.
