    "Well, then," Peter says, still glaring, and Chris wonders how this boy all dolled up in a dress, knows all this about them. "I suppose my first question would be: Why did you invite a Hunter to join us, hmm?"

    "Same reason I asked you to join me, Peter," Stiles answers, and doesn't even bother hiding how coy he's being, "I'm lonely. I wanted people to talk to, and I wanted said people, specifically, to be useful to a certain cause, later."

    "And what cause would that be?" Chris asks, wary.

    "That," Stiles beams, "is a secret."

Sei kein Rassist, Chris, du bist der Beste unter den Schlechten, und ich erwarte, dass du dich auch so verhältst.“ Chris ist überrascht, sich tatsächlich gedemütigt zu fühlen. Er steckt seine Pistole zurück in den Hosenbund. „Und Peter , du bist klug genug, erst Fragen zu stellen . Und vernünftig genug, nebenbei bemerkt.“

      „Na gut“, sagt Peter, immer noch finster dreinblickend, und Chris fragt sich, woher dieser Junge, so herausgeputzt in seinem Kleid, all das über sie weiß. „Meine erste Frage wäre wohl: Warum hast du einen Jäger eingeladen , sich uns anzuschließen, hm?“

      „Aus demselben Grund, aus dem ich dich gebeten habe, dich mir anzuschließen, Peter“, antwortet Stiles und versucht nicht einmal , seine Verschwiegenheit zu verbergen. „Ich bin einsam. Ich wollte Leute zum Reden haben, und ich wollte, dass diese Leute später für eine bestimmte Sache nützlich sein würden.“

      „Und woran könnte das liegen?“, fragt Chris misstrauisch.

      " Das ", strahlt Stiles, "ist ein Geheimnis."
