Summary
At just seven years old, Tom Riddle knew he was destined for greater things than anyone else at the orphanage was. He doesn't bother to talk to them, and they keep away from him. It's perfect. Unfortunately, one of the children grows oddly curious of him.
Begrudgingly, Tom finds himself 'befriending' a girl from his orphanage. He's only mildly thrilled when they're both invited to Hogwarts, his ego taking a hit upon the realization that he was not as unique as he'd originally thought.
Navigating through life at the orphanage and then Hogwarts, the two bond, as much as Tom denies it. Though Tom's desire for success eventually pulls him away, threatening the one friendship he'd managed to keep.
OR: tom and reader meet at the orphanage and become friends and fall in love even tho tom won't admit it and they go to hogwarts together and tom begins to struggle with wanting to be super awesome immortal and cool or staying with yew.
