    Something was wrong. Really, really wrong.

     

    Leo and Mikey opened the portal, the swirling blue and orange doing little to comfort them.

     

    “I don’t think this is home.” Mikey noted. Leo’s face hardened. “Maybe we shouldn’t go in—“

     

    But before Leo could get another word out, a large, violent vibration sent them both tumbling in.

    —Or—

    Leo and Mikey accidentally portal themselves into the 2012 universe, where they’re met with four older, weirder looking versions of themselves, Raph, and Donnie. Will they find a way home? Because these older versions seem to be way too concerned about how they live to let them leave.

    Sure, Mikey’s arms almost ripped apart. Sure, Leo participated in a full on suicide mission.

    That’s not BAD, right?

    Leonardo is dead.

    Or, at least, he should be. Instead, he is floating within a colorful vortex that reminds him too much of his own portals. He tries not to think too much about it. But, eventually he is forced to when the vortex spits him out into a world that used to be his home, many, many years ago.

     

    Or; the one where Future!Leo somehow managed to luck out on a one in a million mere millisecond chance of a freak glitch in the space-time continuum that sends him back into the present, where the Invasion has been successfully driven back. And it looks like it was a one-way ticket travel.

    Obviously, everybody is So Very Normal about this.

    Donnie has everything perfectly under control. Sure, sometimes he hears the voices of those who aren't there, and sometimes he's not in control of his own body- but those are easy fixes. He's fine, dare he say even better than fine! He's so fine that he even constructed a portal to other dimensions in case the Krang come back! It's not like he worked endlessly, almost obsessively, over the portal for days, missing sleep and family trying to talk to him.

    He's fine!

    He's even fine when the portal swallows him whole and spits him out into a new universe with nothing but his battle shell and clocking broach.

    One with alternate versions of him and his brothers, just starting out and fighting their own version of Kraang and bad guys. He's even fine when he gets dragged into their upcoming battles and fights. He's going to get home anyway; what's the harm in helping out his alternate family fight against Kraang?

    Or:
    Post-movie ROTTMNT Donnie gets sucked into Season 1 TMNT 2012.
