Summary
After the war, Poe has to deal with the aftermath. Many things are still to be decided, adjusted and mended. Peace tables are to be set, future to be planned, past to be considered.
Things take an interesting turn when Poe rescues a barely breathing General Hux.

Summary
When the last straw took away all remnants of Hux’s patience (he really didn't even remember what it had been, or if it would be worth defection) he simply took his holopad, with every secret, every plan and every useful information about the First Order, requisitioned a TIE and sent his personal code with a brief message to General Organa.
It wasn't really about redemption, or some guilt or anything. He just wanted to make Ren pay for playing with what was Hux’s.
He was met at the rendez-vous point by that stupid, annoying, arrogant and awfully good looking space cowboy that was Poe Dameron.

He's so lost in his musings his heart skips a beat when he looks up and spots her sitting on a rock a few feet from him, her perfect profile painted in gold by the sunlight.
She's watching the skyline – smiling, he realises as he approaches. She looks so relaxed and serene, so peaceful...
“Cara?”
Her eyes go wide. For a moment she doesn't move, then, slowly, she starts turning to him and the smile resurfaces on her lips.
She's so beautiful it's like a punch to Din's stomach.
He observes her as she stands up with more effort than normally necessary. He can't take his eyes off her face: she's not just beautiful, she's even more beautiful than he remembered, radiant as the sun setting behind her.
“You're back,” she breathes.
The movement of her hand distracts Din's attention from her face and his breath catches when he sees where it's going to rest.Series

She grins.
"Do you think that's the kind of shirt a man your age should wear?" she says, feigning an indignant tone.
"Oh." Hot Daddy turns to her, already blushing, and... damn, those eyes. "It was the last clean-" he starts babbling, but then notices Cara's smile and immediately relaxes. He smiles, too. The sweetest, most adorable smile Cara has ever seen.
Dammit.
Hot Daddy is also unfairly cute.
"Just kidding," she reassures him, though it's not really necessary at this point, then moves aside her open leather jacket so that he can see: the shirt she's wearing is identical to his, only it has a cat emoji where his has a rooster.
She winks.
