Chapter Text

Everyone in class 1-A knew that Izuku was adorable. I mean how could you not understand the sheer cuteness that seemed to emit from the small boy?

There were many things that Izuku did that could be classified as “adorable.”

The first time Izuku accidentally injured someone was before class.

Iida prided himself on being punctual every day, never missing the bell. He was walking with Izuku through the hallways.

Recently, they had been meeting up before school to make sure they weren’t late. Normally raka joined them too, but for some reason she wasn’t there at their normal meeting spot. They had waited for about five minutes before deciding that she probably slept in, and that they should probably head to school before they were late too.

When they entered the school, there were a few students walking down the hallways, but normally there weren’t many students that arrived even before the first bell rang.

Izuku was talking about a new quirk he had seen the previous day, and Iida was content with listening to the smaller boy ramble on using small hand motions to emphasize points he made.

More than once Iida had to grab Izukus shoulders and steer him in the right direction, due to him being caught up in was he was saying and not paying attention to his surroundings.

Iida smiled fondly at Izuku as he went on about how the quirk could be used in combat, and checked back in to see if Iida was following what he was saying.

This was one of the things that Iida had noticed about Izuku. He had so much to say, but not very many people were willing to listen to him. And another thing was that Izuku didn’t expect them to. So when someone was willing to listen to him ramble, and be actually interested, he was extremely grateful.

And the things that Izuku said were extremely interesting if you had the patience to listen to his thought process. Often times when Izuku talked with him, we walked away with some new information, that was quite useful.

Whenever Izuku would start to mumble Iida would tap his arm to remind him to slow down. In response Izuku would blush softly, rub the back of his neck, apologize, and then continue in a more understandable tone.

“And if they could find out how to make the pressure push outwards, they could cut back on velocity, and maybe even be able to push themselves off the ground and up at about a speed of 79 miles per hour if I added the velocity and resistance right. Wouldn’t that be amazing Iida-kun?” Izuku said turning to Iida with stars in his eyes and an excited expression. His fist was clenched and he was gripping his backpack tighter.

Iida blinked, his thoughts turning back to the small, excited boy.

“I agree, that If someone could use a limited wind quirk like that it would be quite a feat” Iida replied adjusting his glasses as he walked, the rest of his body rigid and uniform as he walked. “But how far could they actually manage to propel themself? Would they get too tired to manage a safe landing?”

Izuku seemed to consider this deeply before starting to mumble all of his ideas out. Iida just have a small smile and exhaled through his nose softly before he gave a small tap to Izuku’s shoulder.

Izuku just looked up and blinked himself out of his self-induced blockade of the real world.

“Oh, sorry Iida-kun, I just got caught up in my thoughts” he said looking bashful.

“It’s quite alright Izuku, just make sure to speak more clearly when your thoughts take off like that” Iida replied.

Izuku nodded “thank you for letting me ramble to you about this stuff. I know I’m hard to follow sometimes, but it makes me really happy when people make an attempt to listen to me. You’re just so selfless Iida-kun, that’s one of tihe reasons I look up to you so much!” Izuku gave a small bow, then gave the most beautiful smile Iida had ever seen.

It was like Izukus face itself was glowing, which probably was true considering that he was a pure angel. The corners of his eyes were squished and his teeth were white and shining beautifully.

Iida could feel his heart skip a beat, and the blood rush to his face as he saw this amazing sight. All protective instincts that he possessed were telling him to grab this child, hold him close, and never let anyone harm him ever.

Even after the beautiful smile has slowly mealted off Izukus face, leaving just his natural smile, Iida was still staring at him.
He was still reeling from the sheer magnificence of that smile, that was directed at him of all people.

He hadn’t even realized that he had started to pick up speed until he felt the impact of himself running straight into a wall.

With a start he fell backwards landing on the floor. Disoriented and clutching his nose which had run into the wall, he heard Izuku talking rapidly and worriedly to him.

“Iida-kun, are you ok?! Is your nose bleeding, do you want me to grab you a tissue? Here I grabbed your books that fell. Should I grab some ice?”

Iida blinked and focused on Izuku crouching down next to him where he had fallen.

“Oh no Izuku-kun, I’m totally fine. I may have slightly bumped my nose, but I’m sure it will be just fine. I apologize for worrying you. I don’t know what came over me.” Iida said accepting the hand that Izuku had offered to him, and pulling himself up.

Izuku studied Iida for a moment longer before letting the worry melt away from his features.

“The first bell is about to ring, so we’d better get inside” Izuku said, handing Iida his book bag that he had dropped when he fell before pointing to their classroom, just down the hall.

Iida followed him into the classroom, and they both sat down in their respective seats, waiting for the other students to arrive.

Iida watched as Izuku reached down into his backpack, and fumbled around for a bit before he pulled out his newest hero journal and stared scribbling notes in it, probably about that wind control quirk that they were just talking about.

Iida felt a swell of fondness rise up his chest. For some reason Izuku admired him.

And he knew that he would listen to 20 thousand hours of quirk talk, and run into 20 thousand walls if it meant he got to see that smile.
