Blind Trust

Summary:
When an accident leaves the Quartermaster blinded - possibly permanently - all of MI6 is understandably shaken up. It doesn't help that this happened in the middle of MI6 because someone who was supposed to be an ally turned out to be an enemy. It also doesn't help that said enemy made it past 007, proving that even 00-agents can slip up...and even hardened assassins can feel guilt.
The man who nearly killed Q also stole valuable information, though, and even blinded, Q isn't going to just let that happen. Woe-betide any head of MI6 or 00-agent who feels the need to get in his way...
Notes:
This fic was written/is being written based off a wonderful art-piece that I selected as part of the 00Q Reverse Bang challenge (for those who don't know, that means a bunch of artists drew prompts, and a bunch of writers like myself chose them, and wrote a fic based on the piece). I was supposed to write a fic over 5,000 words...27,000 words later (not all posted yet), and I'm still going XD

Chapter 1: Art Prompt for 'Blind Trust'
Summary:
This should have been posted a long time ago! So, if no one has noticed, this is part of the 00Q Reverse Bang challenge - something that I participated in last year. In the RB, artists draw picture prompts, and writers choose one to write about. I was lucky enough to get the gracious and lovely Ayantiel as my artist. She drew this lovely piece, and I think I would have cried if any other author had claimed it instead of me!
In other words, this is the art that started it all, and I figure I should post it before I finish the story entirely! :) ...And before the 00Q RB for this year starts... tomorrow!

Don't get confused if this chapter moves around a bit - I'm going to move it to the beginning, where it belong, so people can see it before reading...
