Elena and Stefan were getting dressed for their date with each other. Today marks their 5 year anniversary of being together. The two have been a couple since high school, yes they may have had their ups and downs but they would talk it out, always resolving their problems well. Both still love each other conditionally.
Stefan was looking at himself and fixed his outfit using a full length mirror, he pulled out the ring box in his pocket and opened it. A diamond princess cut ring was there. shining. Stefan had spent some time saving money for this ring. He had wanted it to be special for a girl like Elena. “Tonight is the night.” He smiled and put the ring away.
Elena applied her makeup on and styled her hair into a crown braid. She was wearing simple strapless black dress with black pumps.
Stefan had entered her room. “You ready?”
“Uhh yeah, yes I am.” She put her makeup away and sat up, turning around to face her boyfriend.
“Wow.” Stefan admired her beauty. God, she has always looked so gorgeous he thought. “You look stunning as always!”
She grinned “Aww thank you, and you look very handsome in that suit.” Elena always loved it when Stefan complimented her, it always makes her day.
“Well, it’s 8pm. I guess we should be going now.” They both head outside and go into their car. Elena remembered something. “Wait, you still haven’t said where we are off too.”
“I know, it’s a surprise.” Stefan kissed her cheek, then began to drive.

Stefan and Elena are walking to their surprise destination
Stefan put his hand over Elena’s eyes, blocking it so she wouldn’t see where they are heading to, and the other hand on her waist to guide her. Elena slightly moved his hand down so she can see where they are. “Stop trying to peek.” Stefan put his hand back to her eyes. “But I’m so curious!” Elena pouted. “We’re almost there, ok?” He reassured her.
Soon, he puts his hands down. Allowing Elena to take a look. Elena’s eye’s lit up as she had observed the area. “No way. The ferris wheel. I remember all of this! Let me guess, you compelled the guard to go on a break again” She joked. “That was really sweet of you to do”
“Ah, it’s no problem. Hey, want some cotton candy. I know our diet is literally blood but like. Let’s just have something new for once. You know?” Stefan asked
“Oh, why not! I don’t mind.”
The two held hands and walked over to the cotton candy machine. “Ok uhm.. I have no idea how to work this” Stefan scratched his head.
“Of course you don’t, You’re like 300 years old” Elena laughed and began making the cotton candy.
“Actually, I’m 167-“ Stefan replied. “Same thing basically !”
Elena ate a bit of the cotton candy. “Wow, this is so good. You know, I miss being human. I want to have a normal life with family, you?”
“I’ve thought about the same thing, kids seems nice. And I wanted to be a doctor before I turned.. But obviously that didn’t work out.” Stefan sighed and put his hands in his pockets
“Ah, same. If only there were more cures available... I’m sorry. I had no choice but to give it to Katherine. She was about to kill me!”
“No no, that’s completely understandable! You did the right thing.”
“Thank you for understanding me! Want some?” She pointed her cotton candy towards stefan. He smiled and ate some of it, with Elena finishing the rest.
“That was tasty.” Stefan licked his lips. Elena asked “Mhm, first time having it?”
“Yup”
Elena walked away to dispose the stick.
She turned around and immediately gasped. Hands over her mouth. “Oh my god... Stefan”
Stefan was on one knee. The ring was out. “Elena, I never thought true love existed until I had met you. I didn’t know that bumping into each other in the hallway could change my life. Every single moment we have spend together is significant. We can travel the world, adopts pets and have fun. I’d never do anything to hurt you, never. There is really no one I can imagine being with that is not you.” They both had began to tear up. “I want to be with you for eternity. So Please. Elena Marie Gilbert. Will you marry me?”
Elena was speechless for a few seconds. She had a shocked yet happy look on her face. “Of course! Yes, Stefan Salvatore. I will marry you!”
Stefan slid the ring onto her ring finger. Elena put her arms around his neck and Stefan put his arms around her waist pulling her closer in. They began to kiss passionately, in front of the ferris wheel. “I love you Stefan.”
Stefan caressed Elena’s face and wiped her tears away
“I love you too Elena.”
They embraced each. “You wanna go on the ferris wheel?” Stefan recommend. “Sure!”
“Hold on tight.” Elena held onto Stefan tightly as he used his vampire powers to jump high into the ferris wheel. The two landed safely, with Elena still in Stefan’s arms. “That was so nostalgic! I can’t wait to spend the rest of eternity with you.” She rested her head on his shoulder.
Stefan kissed the top of her head and they intertwined their hands, staring at the black sky with some faint stars showing up. “This view is so pretty... I’m so happy i fell in love with you.” Elena said, she began to admire her ring. “Wow, this looks pretty pricey! What did you do to get such money for this?”
Stefan looked at the ring, and touched it, then looked back up at her. “I just sold my motorcycle.”
“Really?” Elena said, surprised. Stefan nodded. “Wow, Stefan. You really didn’t need to do that! That is so... kind.”
“Anything for you. I love you Elena”
“I love you too Stefan”
