Chapter Text
I think I’d like to go back to the lakeside
Cause it’s been a day or two
Since I connected with nature
Since I sat myself right next to you
I’m looking (I’m looking, oh woah)
At photos from summers long gone
At the sun and somehow, I know
A different light shines on the lake…side
[Harmonica solo, duh]
I just need a break (Oh, just a few days)
From all of my heart ache
(Let the water wash it away)
Out on the shore of the lake
Just look at me (look at me please)
I’d beg (oh I’m down, down on my knees)
If that’s what it takes
To get me back to the lake…side
Skipping stones, my beating heart
Keep the time for me
Wish I could rely a little more
On my own memories
I remember just what it felt like
Remember the warmth of a long summer night
The chill of the water
So cold, it just makes you ache
I’m looking, (I’m looking, oh woah)
At photos from summers long, long gone
At the sun and somehow, I know (I know it, I know it oh oh)
A different light shines on the lakeside
With my feet in the water
Let the sun warm my face
Cause I know that I’m home (I’m finally home)
When I go back to that place.
When I go…
back
to the
Lake.
