Work Text:

God he was so beautiful, sometimes Suna wondered if they’d died and gone to Heaven in their sleep. Or maybe that was just the heat. It was scorching out, no cooling wind or clouds to break the sunlight.

Sitting on the roof of the hot car might not have been the best choice on Suna’s part, but it felt freeing to be up where one usually wasn’t, and shading Osamu from the sun was always a plus.

The gray haired Miya had had a contented smile painted on his face the whole trip, not quite caring where they were or where they’d end up. Suna was almost sure the car could catch on fire and Osamu would just lay in the grass and hum songs to himself.

It was something Suna loved about him.

Despite how he might appear at first, Osamu wasn’t really much like his brother. When you took out the constant quarreling and tension that competition brought, Osamu became something different, and in Suna’s opinion, something beautiful when he was given time to be himself.

He was beautiful normally too of course, but Suna liked him better when he was left with enough space to grow as his own.

Osamu was currently gnawing on a blueberry popsicle stick, flinching back and scrunching his nose every now and then when it got too cold on his gums.

It made Suna giggle every time, but they’d just turn back to their phone as if they’d seen something funny on the screen. Normally Osamu was the kind of inquisitive person who would ask to see what Suna’d laughed at, but he didn’t because they both knew that he knew that Suna wasn’t really laughing at their phone.

Atsumu suddenly groaned from the front seat of the car, “Can we go already? I’m fucking melting up here.”

“What’s the magic word?” Osamu replied coolly.

“Fuck off.”

“Hmm. No that’s not it.”

Suna smiled. Yes, Osamu was so beautiful, Suna swore they must have died and gone to Heaven.
