Chapter 1: The night of the engagement party

Chapter Text

Shortly after the Roan Kingom and their allies defeated the White star and the Indomitable Alliance, news of his Royal Majesty Alberu’s proposal and engagement to the Hero Cale Henituss spread all over the world. The news spread great cheer and festivity to the Kingdom and everyone was preparing for the wedding ceremony soon to happen. Everyone and their mother wanted to attend to catch a glimpse of the sun and silver shield hero! Silver shields with the royal crest became the most popular decoration and all the rage across the kingdom.

In the meanwhile…

Cale finished watering the strawberry plants with Raon, On and Hong. He pulled off his gardening gloves and headed towards the teleportation circle set up at the Super Rock Villa.
“Raon, On, Hong, Take care of the rest of the plants for me ok? I am going to visit His Royal Majesty Alberu.”
Their engagement party was to be held tonight and there were still a number of things needed to be completed for their wedding. Of course, Cale was going to leave them up to Alberu to work on. He would just be there to try out the food and laze around like a cat.
Cale stepped through the balcony doors into Alberu’s room and laid down on the plush sofa chair watching Alberu busily at work.
“Oh your Majesty, the brilliant sun of the Roan Kingdom, Alberu, why don’t you take a break? Our engagement party is tonight. You should relax.”
Cale said as he snacked on the fruit tray from the King’s desk.
“Stop calling me that! How can I relax!? Hah. I have to finish all the work in advance so I won’t be swamped to death with work after our wedding and honeymoon…. I’ve got to make sure a certain slacker won’t have to do any work at all.” Alberu stared at Cale with a smile.
“I love to tease you though Hyuung. It’s fine to take a break for once. You’re usually ahead of your work anyways.”
Alberu didn’t respond, he was already reading the next document.
Alber was always overworking himself, Cale thought. Cale got up to take a look at the stack of unfinished documents on Alberu’s desk after a while and noticed they were for plans and legislature documents that didn’t need to be completed until more than a month out!
‘Just how much work was this idiot Hyuung of his planning on finishing ahead of time!? We’re only going for a 3 week vacation….’ Cale thought.

The sun was setting as Alberu reached for the next document.
Cale promptly sat on the desk, blocking the way. He leaned down, red hair cascading down covering Alberu’s vision. The sunset highlighted Cale’s brilliant red hair and Alberu couldn’t help but stare at Cale’s face. Using the moment of distraction, Cale reached out and unhooked Alberu’s necklace undoing his blond haired disguise. He quickly leaned forward and kissed Alberu, nipping his lower lip as he pulled back.
“The sun is setting, your royal Majesty. Your husband-to-be is about to cancel the wedding if you keep working overtime and ignoring him.”
Alberu’s ears flushed red as his natural quarter elf dark hair and skin appeared. Cale jumped off the desk, languidly walking to the bed while stripping his jacket.
“We have to change outfits for the engagement party, Hyuung.” Cale murmured as he smiled at Alberu teasingly.

Alberu couldn’t help himself. Heat suffused his entire body from his ears outward and his heartbeat was racing. He pushed back his chair and pounced Cale onto his bed.
“If you keep teasing me Dongsaeng, I won’t be able to hold myself back.”
Cale stared up at him and smiled smugly. His eyes beamed at him, challenging him. He wanted to get Alberu to take a break and his distraction had most certainly worked. Cale was the only one that was ever able to wean this workaholic away from work. Even Tasha found it hard pressed to make Alberu take a break. Cale used this to his advantage and reached out to unbutton Alberu’s shirt and slide his hands up his abs.
“Who said I’m teasing you? We can’t change clothes if you don’t take your shirt off Hyuung. We have a party to prepare for.~”

“Cale, you minx.” Alberu groaned as his right hand spooned the back of Cales neck pulling him in for a kiss. Cale had worked Alberu’s shirt off as they kissed. Cale was getting light headed from kissing so much, pulling back from Alberu. Alberu nipped Cale’s lower lip in return as they parted and he immediately tore off Cale’s shirt.
“You should take your shirt off too so you can change.” Alberu smiled.
Two could play this game.
“You didn’t have to rip off my shirt…” Cale said, his cheeks blushed red.
Cale couldn’t help himself from admiring Alberu’s toned body. He wiggled his hips trying to move up, but this only made Alberu’s eyes darken. Alberu seated himself firmly over Cale and leaned forward smirking.
“See something you like Dongsaeng?”
Cale looked away as Alberu leaned down, heated gaze on Cale’s embarrassed expression.
‘My Dongsaeng is so cute when he’s embarrassed. I want to rile him up more and see all of his expressions.’ Alberu thought.
Alberu was brimming with joy inside that Cale would so openly show him his vulnerable side. He had always been surprised with every new secret Cale revealed to him and thought Cale would never be interested in him. But despite how powerful Cale was, he never acted high and mighty and always tried his best. Cale was too good to be true in Alberu’s eyes.
“I love you Cale Henituse.” Alberu whispered.
Cale glanced back at Alberu and flushed an even deeper shade of red. He felt so happy that it was like he was on cloud nine. He never thought in two lifetimes that he’d be happily together with anyone, let alone someone as dedicated and brilliant as Alberu. Even now, he didn’t feel he deserved to be so happy.
“I love you too, Alberu.” Cale whispered back.
Alberu’s right hand wrapped around Cale’s waist, he kissed Cale and moved down, sucking on Cale’s pale neck. Alberu’s hands wandered towards Cale’s hips, tugging at his pants. The atmosphere became heated as their hearts beat faster.

All of a sudden a knock came from the door, surprising the two of them. They quickly pulled apart as the maid outside called out.
“Your Majesty Alberu, I’m here to remind you that your engagement party is about to start.”
Alberu quickly called out, “Thank you for the notice. I can get ready myself. You may leave.”
Cale was still panting hard, white skin flushed red as his hair.
“It’s a good thing your maid came by…” Cale said.
Alberu blushed, “I-I got carried away. Let’s have our first time on our wedding night as planned.”

The two of them rushed to change into proper attire, but they still ended up a full 30 minutes late to their own engagement party. Everyone teased them when they saw the two of them come in late together and very quickly they were pulled apart by their friends and family to party. The following week was busy with last minute wedding preparations and they wouldn't see eachother again until their wedding day as per the Roan Kingdom’s tradition.
