My Beloved, My Lighthouse

Summary:

My dear,
I feel you everywhere I go…

Notes:

So I wrote two poems on the same theme: Post-finale Stede sailing off to reunite with Ed. I didn’t want to consolidate them, and I felt like sharing them both, so I hope you’ll forgive me my repetition.

This poem is also directly inspired by something else, namely the amazing spoken word part of Rising Appalachia’s version of Oh Death.

The second chapter is the poem in image format.

Chapter 1: Poem

Chapter Text

My dear,

I feel you everywhere I go.

From the glimmer of the stars at midnight

to the whistle of the wind,

I see your eyes, bright points in a dark sky

I hear your laughter,

sudden and sharp in the breeze.

In dreams

Your presence is all the clearer.

For in my mind I have come

to the end of my journey

And I have held you in my arms once more.

My dear, my beloved, my lighthouse.

My home.
