To be entirely truthful, fWhip had wanted to kill Scott long before the man tried to steal his treasure.
Figuratively, of course.
It was impossible for him to not feel a bit resentful since Scott had harmed the two people most important to him. If it was just the deaths, it wouldn't matter. Having only ten lives in a world filled with chaotic people was an occupational hazard. Heck, it was an occupational hazard when they had lives to spare.
But it was in the way Gem was just a bit more defensive than usual, how trigger happy she could be with her lazer, how she doubled down on her protectiveness of her villagers even as she moved to the ocean slightly beyond them-
How Sausage's eye gleamed with a touch of wickedness when he came back but also carried himself with a sense of trepidation, how his next Origin after that gave him the ability to soar across the sky without wings; but also gave him the ability to repel himself from anyone if they got too close and take no fall damage, how he occasionally 'joked' about being afraid of heights despite his abilities-
But Gem and Sausage could handle themselves and Scott. They didn't need fWhip to avenge the parts of themselves that they lost (that Scott took from them).
That didn't stop fWhip from fantasizing every now and then. On the nights he did fantasize, his dreams were filled with tnt, traps, ice and familiar laughter. The following mornings, he would wake up shivering in a cold sweat, cursing Scott for undefined reasons that slipped through his fingers like melted snow.
So when he and Joel discovered a familiar vampire trying to hide the fact that he was looting a dragon's hoard, fWhip felt no remorse in poisoning Scott with his breath. The amount of satisfaction he felt putting Scott's head up as a warning - not just to others but to Scott himself in case he didn't get the message the first time - was immense. No longer could Scott using his vampiric abilities to hurt the people fWhip cared about, which was what mattered most at the end of the day.
(And for his crime of taking the life of another, he lost the Origin that enabled him to do so. It was only fair, after all.)
The irony of being reborn as a Fisherman Villager is far from lost on fWhip. If only he and Gem could've been villagers at the same time.
When Scott flew in, all gold and coldly regal in ways Sausage never was, fWhip wasn't surprised. He'd recently sent a message out to the others asking for spare wheat. Plus it would be stupid to assume Scott wouldn't want to confront him after he murdered him. But fWhip wasn't worried. He had the ability to summon Iron Golems now and knew from experience how deadly they could be. Scott was the one who should be wary.
Just as he expected, Scott met his gaze coolly, pressing his sword up to fWhip's neck and threatening to kill him. fWhip wasted no time bringing out an Iron Golem.... but it completely ignored Scott. Scott chuckled condescendingly as fWhip tried to direct the Iron Golem to attack him, only to be disregarded. Dread slowly began to build within fWhip.
Abruptly, Scott burst out laughing, but it was warmer than anything he'd previously portrayed. Not soon after, his sword was removed from fWhip's neck, gracefully returned to it's sheath.
"Don't worry, I'm only teasing," Scott admitted,"I only kill bad guys."
Relief hit fWhip like a ton of bricks. The remainder of Scott's visit was cordial, and the recently anointed Angel left shortly after providing fWhip with the wheat he'd requested.
On one hand, fWhip was glad Scott's not evil anymore. But on the other, a small part of him was annoyed that Scott got to be a real Angel after all of the things he put Sausage through. fWhip was more than willing to bet that Scott had already rubbed it in Sausage's face, too. But at the end of the day, there's nothing fWhip can do about it as a Fisherman.
(As it turns out he doesn't need to do anything, as Scott dies under enigmatic circumstances not too long after that. And when Sausage is reborn as an Origin that is basically a God, fWhip feels proud.... even as he gets fed up with Sausage's insistence that he sacrifice a villager so he can test how effective his lightening summoning ability really is.)
