Grian was a man of many outfits. If you needed him to be something or someone else then he would be. But he never did it for himself not alot anyway.
Grian was genderfluid and would often prefer people to change pronouns on how he felt but had he told anyone yet?
*the last time they tried*
"Hey scar"
"Oh hello grian I didn't see you there"
"Scar can I tell you something?"
"Sure! Anything you like buddy"
"Well ...I was...then like"
"Hey whats wrong?"
"Never mind nothing haha"
And with that grian flew away and actively avoided scar for 2 weeks
*present day*
Well would you after doing something as stupied as that? Probably but he was one Brain cell remember.
Today grian felt extremely feminine and really wanted to wear something other then her usual red jumper and gray jeans. But that would also entail alot of questions from the other hermits which she just didn't want to face. Not right now atleast because eventually it will come out the truth always does but if she can hide it alittle longer that's perfect.
Looking in the mirror didn't seem right. Nothing looked right. Nothing looked in in place. This was the worst her dysphoria had been in a while so she decided to ditch her normal fit for a better one.
Putting on her skirt she looked down at her communicator and saw the group chat had multiple messages on it.

Looking at the time grian released she was already late 1:03. Shoot. Racing out of her base she met the other at the meeting room.
"Sorry im late guys I was busier then expected" she lied trying not to bring to much attention on to her. "Is that why your wearing one of my skirts that went missing?" It wasn't a secret that iskall wore skirts. They can always been seen sporting a skirt to a formal event.
This was bad. She forgot about the skirt and worse she might have just been rumbled. Xisumas calm voice was next bringing calm then pian "grain did you steal that?" And of course it got worce she had now been caught for stealing. "Uh well you know what i just remembered I need to go do something yeah something so I guess ill have to miss this meeting oh well bye" so she was incapable of talking to people that's good to know.
"Grian no come back here now" he knew his attempt to get grian to come back was going to fail and that was evident in the way xisumas voice trailed from a shout to a died out whisper. "OK well I will deal with that later. Anyway on with the meeting shall we. I would like to start with the villages iskall" everyone laughed at that.
After the meeting xisuma went to grians back hoping the man would be there. "Grian? Are you here? We need to talk about earlier." A quiet chirpping came from a wall near by. Walking up to the wall Xisuma noticed two (2) blocks that were a little to scratch up not to have messed with. Breaking the blocks he saw grain sitting thier with professor.Beak just swaying side to side gently. "Hey grian what are you up too?" This started grian despite X trying his best not to. Quickly standing up and facing the admin his face said everything that never should have to be seen. Fear. He realised that the younger was no longer wearing the supposedly stolen skirt and that he had dried tear tracks running down his face.
"How are you?"
"Doing just fine why are you here"
There it was again the fear in his voice
"I came to see if you were doing OK? You ran off rather fast earlier"
"Oh yeah I guess i did didn't I?" with a nervous laugh grian placed his hand on the back of his neck. This was before the second silence between the two got to much for younger and words and hands flying "im really sorry and ill go return the skirt to iskall and ill give them an I.O.U and-" taking a breath grian looked down and paused but xisuma just stood there waiting for what was to be said next " -and I've already started packing anything important so you can ban me at anytime." Tears pricked his eyes again and he didn't look up at xisuma.
Clearly confused xisuma asked "why would I need to ban you? Tho I do appreciate you retaining the skirt"
"Why would you want me stay? I stole and broke the rules and the trust of people and I knew they hated me already for the things I've done when pranks have gone to far and I've accidentally started wars or damaged something or-" this had clearly been bottled up for a very long time so xisuma stopped the younger before things that were being said become less true.
" ok let's slow down." He guided grian to sit infront of him "why did you take the skirt?" a simple question really but it was hard to answer
"I wanted one without others knowing. I couldn't do it anymore" even though he (?they? He might stick with they until grain says otherwise) even though they were mumbling it was still clear enough to understand and xisuma was worried about the last bit. The stealing should be pushed back alittle bit. Wow he is learning alot about grian right now. "Grian thats a little concerning to hear. What do you mean by that?" They didn't answer. But he didn't give up placing his hands on top of grians he asked again " grian what did you mean by that?" "I think you know X" "do you still feel like that?" "Sometimes" still worrying but something that can be addressed later (and possibly over a cup of tea?) "OK so why didn't you want anyone to know about you having a skirt? Most of the boys on the server have one" a very quite reply came from the statement rather then the question "not boy" if the admin wasn't actively waiting for a reply he's sure he would have missed it
"What do you mean not boy?"
"I dont what to be a boy"
"Do you want to be a girl?"
"Sometimes"
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Yes"
Now that confused xisuma. So they want to be a girl sometimes but its bad to be? he was probably not the best for this as even he wassnt open about his own gender or pronouns but he would have to make it through this conversation and help his hermit feel safe.
"OK why do you think you being a girl sometimes is bad?"
" because im faking it"
A very odd response. Why would they admit to faking it even though the fall out of people finding out of the skirt lead to this? He was asking so many questions he was annoying himself.
"Grian look at me. If you want to be a girl sometimes thag fine. If you don't what to be a boy that's fine. But I dont think your faking this. I think that you are struggling and just need some help back up" standing up the older smiled and held out a hand for the prankster "come on let's go take that skirt back to iskall" with a watery smile they took his hand.
After arriving at iskalls base xisuma call out for the hermit "iskall! Someone's here to see you" walking out of to the front of the base the door opened as the excited person stepped out "hallo X! How are you doing?" Xisuma could feel grian hiding behind him and holding tight on to his armor "im ok but someone else wanted to apologise." Turning his head to grian he said " come on their not going to be angry at you"
Grian come out from behind xisuma although reluctantly and still holding his arm and she stuck out her own arm holding the skirt. "Oh thank you! If you want a skirt or to borrow one just ask ok? You can always have one"
Iskall could see grian start crying agenst xisumas arm "er is he ok?" "I'm sure they'll be ok in abit" he said placing his other hand on the blondes head holding it. Consurned, iskall moved aside letting the other two(2) in.
To iskall was worried for their younger friend.
Who wouldn't be after seeing someone leave as fast as he did but seeing him at thier base nearly 2 hours later was just terrifying. Just seeing their normally bouncing laughing smiling friend crying and hiding in the admins arm? It wasn't normal. Letting them both in and getting drinks they probably stayed there a little longer then nessesery. They were things about what xisuma has said just before comeing in " im sure they'll be ok in a bit"
They'll? As in they/them pronouns? Grian never said anything about different pronouns. When the kid started hermitcraft they all did the usual go round and say name pronouns and something about you. Grian said grian he/him and that he was really good at flying. Actually thinking back to that day grian was hesitant with saying his pronouns but iskall just thought it was because it wasn't something that the kid had done before.
Walking back into the main area where their guess were they placed down the drinks and sat on the opposite sofa to xisuma while grian was sitting on the floor between them. Speaking of grian they now had a mask on like etho did and was stimming like bduds would. Xisuma and iskall talked about random things and projects that they had been doing resetly deciding to let grian do what they need to do first.
Grian was a mess honestly. She didn't expect to be in iskalls base with a mask on and rocking back and forth on the floor. Actually she didn't expect anything today. After a while she was mentally ready to have a proper conversation. Turning to the other people in the room she stayed on the floor (can you blame her? Floors are comfortable) bringing down the mask she reached for her drink which alerted the other two (2) to her awareness "how are you feeling right now grian?" Iskall was the first to ask "ok I guess" she was still feeling as If nothing was real but that would change later for sure. "Are you ready to talk now or later?" She felt bad for xisuma practically babysitting her
"Now please"
"Why did you borrow my skirt?"
"Because I couldn't take it anymore."
"Couldn't take what?"
"Dysphoria."
This was new to the older hermits. Grian has Dysphoria? Well that can be helped with but why didn't they tell anyone sooner?
"Grian different question. What pronouns are you currently going or wishing to go by?"
Why didn't I think of asking that xisuma thought to himself
This made grain stop for a second and think. Like properly think hard about what to say. Its always the simple questions that have the hardest answers.
"Right now she/her"
"OK so did you borrow my skirt to feel and look more like a girl?"
She liked how iskall kept saying borrowed instead of stolen or taken
"Yeah but I was embarrassed if anyone found out"
"Why"
"Because its stupid"
"But alot of hermits have skirts and dresses myself included" she remembered seeing the admin in a dress for the first time and it was amazingly breath taking.
Sensing the slight awkwardness from grian iskall asked another question
"What do you what to do now?"
"Properly telling the others is the only thing to do now isn't it"
"Not necessarily. This is your choice and you can deside what to do."
Standing up with a new found detumanation grian stated "I want to tell the others" "there's the grian I know and love"
The meeting was set up for 2 days later and everyone showed up knowing what they were there for. So xisuma started to settle down the group
"ok everyone it was recently brought to my attention that we haven't gone over peoples pronouns in a long time and that we should start doing these kind of meetings every rough quarter of the season. So I will start and then we go go round. I'm xisuma or X for short though I know that everyone has different name for me.I use he/end/void pronouns"
this came a shock to everyone as never before did someone say that they used neonouns but xisuma was confident and made no room for disagreements. And so hermit after hermit they went

This changed the mood from scary to more light hearted which was appreciated by everyone.
