Work Text:

It's quiet on the other side. Too quiet.
That wasn't usual of the light sides.

Usually Roman sang Disney so loud Janus was sure his eardrums were shattered.

Usually Virgil blasted his emo music through his room.

Usually Patton tried to get Logan to stop working and join filmnight.

Usually it wasn't this quiet.

Carefully he stepped through the door opening between the two sides. It was put in place long ago, right after the King split.

Janus had seen how it had taken his toll on the two halves that were left behind.

As he stepped into the hallway, his eyes went wide. Roman....

Beaten down, full of bruises. He laid there like a doll chewed up by a rat.
Janus rushed to his side and checked his pulse.

None...

Dead. Roman, Thomas Creativity was dead. Bruised and broken.
No longer being able to see the horrific sight, Janus rushed out the hallway into the nearest room.

Virgil's judging by the posters on the wall. Janus recognised those from way way before.

As his eyes observed the room...he noticed a weird looking lump on Virgil's bed. Covered in blankets, a pillow laying on top of it.

Carefully he removed it, only to put it back quickly as Virgil's blank lifeless eyes stared back at him.

Suffocated. It was obvious.

No! No! He ran out of the room, into the kitchen. Trying to catch his breath, he leaned on the kitchen table. Was that his imangantion playing with him? Was he going crazy?

He was pulled out of his thoughts by something sticky on his gloves. Red on yellow.... A stark contrast.

Looking behind him, he almost fainted.

Blood dripped down the table. And in the middle of the pile laid Patton, covered in gashes.

No...no...not him too.

As he sank out, he landed into the attic. Since when had the light sides an attic?!

A shiver went over his spine. Cold.

Who had put the temperature so low?
Oh, an open window. He walked over to it, wanting to close it as something on the ground caught his eye. Glasses.

Patton had still his but.....

Logan!

As he looked out the window, snow covered the ground. The red contrasting against the white.
And Logan's corpse in the middle.

He immediately sank down into the living room. As he looked around, a voice whispered in his ear.

"Oh, Janus~ you finally joined the party? Did you see Robro? My best handiwork, if I do say so myself"

A taunting laugh echoed through the light side.

And then everything went quiet.

Unusually quiet.
