Juleka storm’s into my room and starts to shake me awake, Saying something about snow and needing a ride. Eventually I look up and glare at my younger sister. Wondering why on earth she’s wearing a snow jacket. I sit up and pull the blanket with me, purely because I slept without a shirt.
I glance out the window and see that it’s snowing. I look back at my sister, who is looking frustrated
“Luka. you’re awake. Now can you drive me to Marinette’s? We’re getting hot chocolate then we’re gonna hangout at the park.”
I smile a bit, and nod, She leaves me be to get dressed. I don My usual attire. The blue hoodie and ripped jeans. Although now I know Jagged Stone is my dad, I stopped wearing his face on my shirt constantly, and now prefer a light gray crop top. Juleka and Marinette both seem to think masculine crop tops could become a new fashion trend.
I start to walk up on deck, where Juleka and our ma are creating a barrage of snowballs. Both turn towards me and immediately hollar for me to
“get some damn shoes on Luka!” Where I then realize, I completely forgot my boots. I run back in and put them on, and Jules and I head out to the bakery. The whole ride over, and all I can think is that I’m just ready for a snack.
When we arrive I go into the warm building and see what has to be the majority of Juleka’s class. Rose immediately appears from the group and launches herself into Julkea’s arms. Where I make my way over to marinette, who seems to be wearing at least four layers.
“Hey Marinette, How are you?” I ask, weary of the stressed buzzing I can hear in her inner music
“Don’t talk to me, it's way too icy out.”
“Why are you so cold?”
“NO. MY QUESTION IS, LUKA, HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU JUST WEARING A HOODIE ?”
