Work Text:
As you parked your car in the familiar townhouse’s driveway, you paused before you got out. This is real. You are moving in with Avery.
It hit you as soon as you saw him walking out to help you, a large smile on his face. You both hugged briefly, before beginning to take some boxes of yours into the house.
When you enter Avery’s home, you’re immediately greeted by a very happy Border Collie, Maggie, for whom you had to set boxes down to give some love to.
You give Maggie some love (that being belly rubs) and the particular green eyed gentleman who was helping decided to comment at this moment, saying, “Lots of love for a non-box carrier. It’s like Maggie helped you move in!”
You rolled your eyes and ruffled his hair, then bopping his nose, in hopes that satisfied. It did.
After you get settled in, having unpacked a whole 3 of your 7 boxes, you change into more comfortable clothing. Heading out of your room — yours and his, you share a room — you noticed him in the kitchen.
Headed over, he gives a quick wave. “Want to help me chop vegetables for stir fry?”
You had obviously agreed, and began to chop an assortment of vegetables. Red, orange, and yellow bell peppers; broccoli; onions; as Avery added a small bit of canola oil to a low heat pan.
You were pretty good at all this vegetable chopping stuff, eventually cutting Avery’s portion of vegetables as he cooked the ones you had cut previously. He added spices you can’t catch the name of, and a tad bit of broth of some kind.
“You’re a good vegetable chopper, hmm?” He bumped hips with you as you handed him the final batch of chopped vegetables.
This caused you to blush just a little bit, and you blushed even more when he held the spoon out of the cooked vegetables out to you, a grin on his face.
“Care for a taste test, mon amour?”
