Chapter Text
“Good morning, Edie!” said Dorothea, waving at her girlfriend from the gazebo.
“Good morning, Dorothea,” said Edelgard, walking over to the gazebo and sitting next to her.
“What’s the matter?” Dorothea asked, “You look like you haven’t slept in a week. Edie, are you okay?”
She wasn’t kidding. Edelgard’s eyes looked red and puffy, and she was almost slumped over in her seat.
“I’m fine, really,” Edelgard lied, trying her hardest to sit up straight.
“No, you’re not,” said Dorothea, cupping her girlfriend’s cheek, “What’s wrong? You can tell me.”
Edelgard sighed, “I’ve been having nightmares about my past. My family and I were experimented on by a group of mages backed by my uncle. All ten of my siblings died, and I only barely survived. That's why I have white hair.”
“Oh my goodness,” Dorothea gasped, “Edie, I had no idea. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine, Dorothea,” said Edelgard, reaching out to hold her girlfriend’s hand, “You had no way of knowing.”
“I know,” Dorothea hung her head, “But I wish I could’ve helped you.”
“You’re helping me right now,” Edelgard gave Dorothea a sincere smile, “Just talking to you about my past is already making me feel better.”
“I just…,” Dorothea sniffed, “I love you, Edie. I’d never forgive myself if anything happened to you.”
“Well, then I’d better have you by my side all the time,” said Edelgard, squeezing Dorothea’s hand.
“I’ll hold you to that,” Dorothea gave Edelgard a wink, “How about we seal it with a kiss?”
“I-,” Edelgard stammered, “I-I have no problem with tha-mmph!”
She was cut off by Dorothea kissing her fiercely, and she very quickly melted into the kiss.
“Good,” Dorothea murmured into Edelgard’s lips as they deepened their kiss.
