Sadly, things don’t go as planned when they all play spin the bottle.

Chapter Text

“I’m so excited, Ro Bro! thanks for getting your friends to invite me!” Remus exclaimed happily as he packed a bag for his first ever sleepover. He didn’t have any friends (unless you counted the rats behind the church) so every week he had to watch his brother happily leave the house with loads of people while he was stuck at home.

“Just don’t be weird, okay? Virgil hasn’t let us hang out at his house before, so if you break anything, you’ll be in big trouble, okay?” Roman hissed, taking his phone off charge to text his friends. “Hurry up, they’re outside!”

Remus nodded quickly, shoving his octopus teddy in his bag before zipping it shut. With a glare from his brother, he reopened it and put some deodorant inside. Then, they headed downstairs and put their shoes on. He was practically bouncing off the walls, eagerly asking about what they would do that night, but instead of responding, his twin just walked out the house and climbed into his friend's car. Remus frowned slightly but brushed it off, tying his laces before following him, putting on a big smile.

“Hi Miss Logan’s mom! Hi Logan! Hi Patton!” He exclaimed, going to sit beside his brother when he realised that the three back seats were already full, having assumed Logan would be sitting upfront with his mom. He shrugged and opened the front door, sitting down and putting his seat belt on.

“Awh, hi sweetheart! I didn’t know Roman had a twin! It’s lovely to meet you, you can just call me Agatha, alright?” She replied cheerily, driving off after checking everyone was buckled in. It wasn’t hard to tell that Logan was adopted, considering the fact that they were polar opposites. She had long blonde hair while he had dark brown curls, she was quite short and skinny while her son was bullied for his weight, and most of all : she smiled more than Logan sighed. And that dude sighed every five seconds!

Remus chuckled awkwardly, turning his attention to the rear view mirror. None of them even looked at him, too busy talking to each other to notice him. He was used to it though, and he understood. After all, they were Romans friends, not his. He couldn’t handle being stuck in a car without music, without a conversation, and without snacks, so he decided to talk to Logan’s mom again.

“Can I call you Aggie? Agatha is an old name, and you don’t look old, ‘cuz my grandma is like, eighty, and she’s all wrinkled and her hair even turned white!” Remus rambled happily. He missed his Abuela. If she left Spain like they did a few years ago, he could visit her everyday like all the other kids at school did. Sometimes he wished he was born in America, because most of the white kids at school either lived with, or near their grandmas.

“Awh, that is so sweet of you! Of course you can, darling, I'm glad you don’t think I look old!” Agatha chuckled, smiling softly at him. Remus decided that he liked her very much. When he met Patton’s mom, she had just glared at him, so this was a lot more fun. They spoke for the whole drive, and he left the car with a very bright smile.

“Alright, you boys have fun! Patton, make sure you call your mom so she knows you’re safe, okay? I don’t think any of us want a repeat of last time.” She said with a playful glare, and everyone except Remus laughed. Agatha smiled gently at him and whispered, “It was nice to meet you sweetie, you have a good time alright?” which was nice because It made him feel a lot less left out. He waved goodbye as she drove off, already missing her.
