pretty sure you’ve got steve whipped

Summary:

“looks like i’m not gonna be seeing her again,” he said with a shrug. “how possessive did eddie get when you told him that?”

“eh,” steve shrugged, smiling. eddie looked over at him. “could have been way worse.”

“you like when i’m possessive,” eddie said, lifting an eyebrow.

“it’s not like you need to be,” nancy said with a laugh at the end. “pretty sure you’ve got him whipped.”

“okay that is a gross-“ robin cut steve off with a laugh.

“no honey, she’s right,” she agreed. eddie started snickering.

Work Text:

“how long do they go in for?” robin asked as she slid the tray of cinnamon rolls in the oven. steve squinted at the instructions on the tube. eddie snorted at him before leaning over to read it.

“12 minutes,” he said to robin as he brought a hand up to the back of steve’s neck and squeezed before scratching the back of his head. “baby, i think you need glasses.”

“yeah i know,” steve sighed, throwing the tube away after getting the icing out. “i don’t want them though.”

“you would look so goddamn sexy in glasses,” eddie said, smirking at him. robin threw her head back dramatically before letting out a loud gagging noise. the boys both snickered at her and steve leaned toward eddie to just give him a quick peck. “so sexy. you definitely should get glasses.”

“you wanna pick out the frames?” steve asked him. eddie’s eyes widened and a large grin appeared on his face.

“god yes,” he stressed, getting a laugh from robin.

“i will be coming as well. as a secondary, unbiased opinion about these glasses,” robin said, slapping eddie’s shoulder. “he’ll tell you that you look good in everything.”

“thanks, rob,” steve deadpanned. they both chuckled at him. he started to walk back towards eddie’s room, tired of being in jeans. he closed the door behind him after he entered and walked over to the dresser. he pulled out a pair of eddie black sweats and a shirt that was just thrown on the floor. he heard robin’s laughter as he changed and he smiled to himself. shaking his head, he walked back out to the kitchen while yawning.

“tired?” eddie smiled at him as he said it and steve nodded. he pushed himself up so he was sitting on the counter and eddie wasted no time fitting himself between steve’s legs so he could wrap his arms around him. “so about these glasses that you’re gonna wear.” steve threw his head back with a laugh and robin gave a fond eye roll to eddie.

~

“listen…” steve trailed off as he was trying to spread the icing around the cinnamon rolls. robin snorted at him and he let out a giggle, getting her and eddie laughing as well. between the three of them and the 12 minutes it took for the cinnamon rolls to cook, they split two joints.

“we’re listening, baby! share with us your wisdom!” eddie exclaimed, full of dramatics. steve smiled at him before looking back at the cinnamon rolls.

“all i’m sayin is that that pillsbury dough bitch could put a little more jizz in the tiny cups. cause this ain’t cuttin it,” he said, completely serious, completely stoned. robin and eddie were in stitches. eddie fell backwards from where he was sitting on the floor. he pulled his shirt up so that the collar was covering his face as he laughed and robin had her face buried in her hands where she was lying on the couch.

“god, stevie, i am so in love with you,” eddie said as he calmed down. steve just smiled at him before bringing the tray over to them. robin wiped the tears from her face as she calmed down and then fanned herself, still smiling really big.

~

“is ‘fuck’ in the bible?” robin asked. steve looked at her with narrowed eyes and furrowed eyebrows.

“yeah,” eddie said, getting them both to look at him. “it’s in ‘i fucked your mom 6:9’.” steve snorted and robin sighed loudly, getting a snicker in return from eddie. steve glanced over at robin, who had since moved to the floor, sitting with her back against the couch, before lying down so that his head was in her lap.

“you know, i never really believed in all that shit,” steve said as robin started to scratch at his scalp. he hummed and closed his eyes, a smile on his face.

“me neither,” she said, looking down at him.

“i didn’t either. and obviously there is some kind of power,” he said and steve scoffed.

“understatement of the century,” robin mumbled. eddie moved so that his head was on steve’s stomach and steve smiled down at him. “i’m so glad i met you guys.”

“aww robbie,” steve cooed, looking up at her. she rolled her eyes and hopped his nose, making him scrunch it up. “i’m glad i met you too.”

“me too,” eddie sighed, sitting up to grab the last cinnamon roll. steve sat up too, eyeing the roll in eddie’s hand. eddie looked up at him as he started to take a bite and he froze. they stared at each other for a second before eddie sighed and rolled his eyes. steve smiled as the roll was torn in half. “fuckin can’t believe i’m doing this.”

“you love me,” steve said, grabbing it from him and shoving it in his mouth. eddie tried not to smile as he rolled his eyes again.

“can we watch labyrinth?” robin asked, looking at eddie. he furrowed his eyebrows at her.

“i don’t have that movie,” he said as he got up to sit on the couch. robin gave him a blank look and he gave her a weird look in return. steve snorted before he got up so that he could lay on the couch with eddie.

“baby, you checked it out like three weeks ago and still haven’t returned it. we check your account daily,” steve said as he got comfy, tucking his head into eddie’s neck.

“you guys keep tabs on me?!” eddie accused, making them laugh. “that’s just not cool guys!”

“found it!” robin exclaimed. she crawled over to the tv and put the vcr in. “i’m getting the couch too so make room.”

“oh god-“ steve got cut off by robin falling on top of him. eddie let out a wheezy sounding laugh and steve groaned. robin hummed happily when she found a comfy spot on top of steve to lie.

“wait. was billy coming here after his date or are we calling him?” eddie asked. steve and robin gasped, making him laugh. “are you guys so fucking gone that you forgot?”

“yes!” they exclaimed together, making him laugh harder.

“what time is it?” steve asked, picking his head up to look at the clock on the stove. he squinted as he tried to read but and he could feel eddie’s eyes on him from below. steve sighed before dropping his head.

“it’s okay baby, we’ll get you glasses. you’ll be okay,” eddie whispered as he ran a hand through steve’s hair.

“it’s 11 so it should be over by now, he said that he would most likely come here which usually means yes when he words things like that but knowing him, he’ll forget to tell us if he doesn’t come here so maybe-“ she was cut off by a knock on the door and then it opening. “and there he is.”

“that cannot be comfortable,” he said as he looked at the three with an eyebrow raised.

“how was your date?” steve asked, turning to look at him. billy shrugged his shoulders before all but flopping onto the floor in front of the couch.

“are you gonna see her again?” robin asked him.

“i think so, kinda want you guys’ opinion of her though so maybe we could do a group thing,” he said with a shrug.

“ooh yay group activities!” robin cheered with a clap, getting a laugh from the guys. “we could go the day after tomorrow. steve and i are both off.”

“yeah we can do that, bill,” steve said, looking down at eddie.

“sure, that’s cool,” he agreed with a shrug.

“cool. so what did i miss?” eddie started cackling, steve and robin giggling along with him.

~

they’re at the roller rink and steve can’t skate for shit. robin is giddy next to him, ready to make fun of him. he sighed and she let out a laugh before wrapping her and around his shoulders. eddie smiled at them as she did it.

“robin. please. you’re choking me,” steve rasped, wrapping his arm around her waist to hold her up. she just giggled at him and he rolled his eyes. “why didn’t you invite vickie again?”

“because with nancy here, it already looks like a triple date,” she said with a shrug. he narrowed his eyes at her and she gave him a look that said ‘later’ so he sighed and dropped it.

“i know that look,” eddie said, pointing at her. nancy walked up to them then, looping her arm through eddie’s. robin narrowed her eyes at him and then nodded her head, earning a big grin from him. steve felt his face heat up a little at the feeling he got from seeing that grin. it always makes him giddy. he’s never gonna get tired of that grin.

“oh, there’s billy,” nancy said, pointing at him. the girl, sam, was next to him, and steve already has a feeling he won’t like her. billy flipped nancy off as he walked up and she scoffed before grinning and shaking her head. “always such an ass.”

“you guys love my ass,” he said, smirk on his face. steve snorted and shook his head.

“your ass is disgusting, just like the rest of you,” robin said.

“that’s exactly what i was gonna say!” steve said with a smile, looking at her.

“you guys share a brain,” eddie said, shaking his head at them.

“are you going to introduce us, billy?” nancy asked, looking at sam with a polite smile on her face. sam gave her one back but it looked forced and steve narrowed his eyes a fraction.

“i’m sam,” she said, short, not at all polite. billy glanced at her with furrowed eyebrows before looking at steve. steve dropped his arm from robin and she moved back from him.

“well, it’s nice to meet you, sam, i’m nancy,” nancy said, remaining polite. “this is robin. that’s steve and that’s eddie.” she just gave them a tight smile before looping her arm through billy’s and squeezing his arm. she eyed nancy and robin so subtly that steve wouldn’t have caught it if he wasn’t looking.

~

“hurry up, stevie!” robin yelled as she dragged eddie on to the rink. steve smiled as he slipped his shoes off so he could put on his skates. he heard robin squealing and turned to look right as eddie started to stumble and fall. he chuckled at the sight before looking back down at his skates to lace them up.

“so, what’s steve harrington doing hanging out with buckley and munson?” she sat down in the chair in front of him as she asked it. he could already tell that this was not gonna go well.

“what do you mean?” he tried to remain polite and it must have worked because sam smiled and shrugged.

“the former king of hawkins high hanging out with buckley and munson,” he rolled his eyes as she said it. she dropped her smile and furrowed her eyebrows.

“that’s not who i am anymore. fortunately,” he said, giving her a tight lipped smile.

“i just find it odd is all,” she said, tilting her head. “are you and buckley dating?”

“nope,” he said, giving her the same smile.

“good to know,” she said in a hushed tone. his eyebrows shot up and he didn’t even bother looking at her as he stood up.

“well, see ya out there,” he said before turning to go to the rink. he spotted nancy close by watching him and he rolled his eyes at her. she made her way over to him, trying not to smile. “help.”

“oh my god, okay,” she said with a laugh. he smiled as he took her hands. she skated backwards with him, giggling as he lost his footing a few times. steve saw billy walk over to sam with the skates he rented for her before looking around for rob and eddie. they were on their way over to them and he smiled.

“steve you look like a child,” robin called as she got closer. eddie snorted as he grabbed on to the wall next to him for balance.

“you literally just held eddie up like this,”

“yeah he looked like a child too,” she said with a shrug. nancy laughed before letting go of steve.

“nance- no-“ he said as he started to lose his footing. robin and nancy started giggling at him as he tried to balance himself.

“see? you got it, stevie,” eddie said, laughing a little. he held out his hand and steve instantly grabbed at his wrist so he could be dragged closer to the wall.

“you’re all assholes,” he said through his teeth, only making them laugh harder.

“stevie having problems?” billy asked as him and sam skated over. he had a smirk on his face as he said it and steve glared at him.

“you all know that i can’t balance for shit.”

“yeah that’s why we picked roller skating,” robin said, crossing her arms and smirking at him.

“i hate all of you.”

“what did i do?” eddie asked, motioning to himself, trying not to laugh.

“are you okay?” sam asked him, fake concern on her face and in her voice.

“peachy,” he said with a snort.

“maybe we should have got you a helmet, you can’t really get another concussion,” nancy said. billy covered his mouth with his hand but robin and eddie started laughing without a care in the world. steve tried not to smile as he shook his head at them.

~

“hey guys!” their waitress cheered as she walked over to them.

“hey cheryl,” they all said in unison, minus sam, smiling up at her. sam looked around before raising an eyebrow and looking down at her menu.

“been a little while, thought maybe traditions changed,” she said with a laugh.

“steve and eddie’s kids have been keeping us busy,” nancy said, getting a laugh from cheryl. steve rolled his eyes at the comment before glancing at eddie, who was smirking at him.

“i heard them call you mom one time,” cheryl said, smiling down at steve. his face heated up as robin and billy started snickering.

“cheryl, i will give you a $20 tip to never mention that again,” steve mumbled up at her.

“don’t mind him,” billy said, waving her off. “he’s just mad that eddie got the dad title and he didn’t.” they got their food ordered and cheryl walked away with a smile on her face.

“kids?” sam asked, looking at steve. he could see eddie giving her a look out of the corner of his eyes so he shifted down in the booth. his knee knocked against eddie’s.

“steve used to babysit some kids and they have taken to calling him mom,” billy explained with a laugh. “and then eddie came along and he’s getting called dad. it’s a whole thing and it’s funny every time.”

“i’m sure,” sam said, a fake smile on her face as he said it. steve could feel robin’s eyes on him so he turned to look at her. the look she was conveying was enough for him to understand. he rose an eyebrow at her and her eyes narrowed.

“i really hate when you guys do this,” nancy said as she looked back and forth between them.

“oh god are they doing the thing?” billy asked, leaning forward to look at them. they still had yet to break eye contact and robin shook her head slightly. ‘i don’t like her’. steve sighed and nodded once before looking away.

“care to share with the class?” eddie asked, smirking at them.

“nope,” they said at the same time, giving him a smile. he just rolled his eyes, giving steve’s leg a push with his own under the table.

“what did they do?” sam asked, looking at billy.

“they do this thing where they talk without talking. they share a brain. you get used to it,” he said, giving her a smile.

~

so billy took sam home after the diner.eddie, robin, and nancy all piled in steve’s care with him. they sat there in silence for a second, looking at each other.

“so we all don’t like her right?” nancy asked. the other three sighed in relief. “oh thank god.“

“she asked if robin and i were dating. when i said no she proceeded to say ‘good to know’ as if she wasn’t fucking there with billy,” steve said. eddie turned to look at him with furrowed eyebrows.

“she said that to you?” he asked, eyebrows raised. steve nodded his head and robin gagged.

“fucking gross!” she exclaimed.

“i’m gonna have to leave more marks, that is unacceptable,” eddie mumbled, making the girls cackle in the back seat. steve’s face heated up as he started to back out of the diner. “we should start tonight.”

“eddie,” steve snapped, getting a laugh out of him. robin gagged again and nancy giggled.

~

“she sucks,” steve and robin said at the same time. billy groaned and ran a hand down his face. eddie tried not to laugh from beside steve on the couch. they all decided on staying at the harrington house after the diner. billy made his way over after dropping off sam.

“what happened?” he asked, looking at nancy. nancy rose an eyebrow at him.

“she asked steve if he and robin were dating. he said no and she said ‘good to know’. she was glaring at me and eddie all night. especially eddie. and she was just very short with us. the only person she talked to was steve and it was because she wanted in his pants,” nancy said, waving her hands around.

“well that’s fucked,” billy mumbled, looking at steve.

“she referred to me as king steve,” he said, looking at billy blankly.

“i swear to god, she has been nothing but great around me,” he said, scratching his head.

“oh we believe that,” eddie said, nodding. “but she wasn’t with us.”

“pretty sure you’ve got steve whipped.”

“okay that is a gross-“ robin cut steve off with a laugh.

“no honey, she’s right,” she agreed. eddie started snickering.

“listen, i get all the nasty details about their sex life,” billy started, a smirk growing on his face. steve turned to glare at him and the smirk got wider. eddie looked at billy curiously and then glanced at steve. “and when i say that eddie has nothing to worry about, i have never been more certain of anything in my life.”

“wait. billy gets all the details?” robin asked, looking at steve with wide eyes. “you refuse to talk to me about anything specific! what the fuck, steve?!”

“yeah, steve, what the fuck?” nancy accused, just trying to egg it on. she had a little smirk on her face and steve dropped his head back against the couch, groaning.

“fuck you, billy,” steve said, exasperated.

“oh no, honey, that’s eddie’s job. and from what you tell me, he’s very good at it,” eddie started cackling and nancy smiled as she shook her head.

“steve you are going to start talking to me about this stuff! i’m your platonic soulmate! this feels like a breach of platonic soulmate code! i feel betrayed! i always wanna know everything! you know that!” robin rambled, getting the other three laughing. steve just turned and planted face first into a pillow on the couch.
