Chapter Text
Robin P.O.V:
As we stood back and watched all of our planning unfold, Finn was beating The Grabber with the phone we used to call him. The bastard was gurgling and gagging as Finn was now strangling him with the phone cord, Billy or rather ‘PaperBoy’ got the idea for one last call with our parting words for this sick bastard. Vance and Bruce were egging Finney on, Vance being the loudest as he cussed the gross bastard out.
As the phone started ringing and Finn looked over at it, it was as if he could read our minds and put the phone up to The Grabber's ear.
“It’s for you..” He trails off angirly letting us take the lead here with the talking. Vance rushes ahead wanting to be the first.
“Welcome to the nightmare end of your pathetic little life.” He snarls. Griffin starts laughing, finding the state his killer is in funny.
“You don’t have much time.” He continues laughing.
“Todays the day motherfucker!” Vance grins as wide as I’ve ever seen him. I walked up to the phone, I wanted to be next to tell that cabron off.
“I can’t kill you, you hijo de puta, so Finn is gonna do it for me.” Bruce chimed in after me.
“Finn's arm is mint!”
As soon as Bruce finished that last sentence, Finn mustered up more of his strength and with one final pull of the phone cord he snapped The Grabber’s neck. Finn gets up from his spot and looks over at where all of us are standing, lined up in front of the phone. His eyes go wide.
I look at him, catching his eyes in mine he smiles slightly as he points at us, urging us to look, and when we do we see all our wounds fading, the blood lifting of our ghostly bodies. He gives us one final nod, letting a singular tear roll down his face. He turns to walk up the stairs towards the outside, as I’m left wanting to chase after him and yet my body wouldn’t move.
There was a light glowing brighter and brighter, each of us looked at one another wondering what would happen next. I could feel my eyes grow heavy as I watched Finn walk out of my line of sight and then it was just white, nothing but white corrupting my vision.

Finney P.O.V:
I wake up in a cold sweat to my alarm chiming on my bedside table. “What the shit was that?” I was shivering so much, did I have a nightmare? I hadn’t had one since I was eleven, why can’t I remember it, what was in that nightmare to warrant such a reaction from me?
I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep with how fast my heart is beating, it felt like it would beat out of my chest and ribcage at any second. I could feel fresh tears falling down my face, I couldn’t understand why at all.
I’m going to get ready for school anyways and try to forget about this weird shit. I’m gonna wear something a little warmer today, I’ll put on a long sleeved shirt with the cargo pants I had to beg my dad to get me
I suddenly hear vigorous knocking on my bedroom door as I'm reaching to grab my hair brush, I open my door only to have Gwen rush at me and tackle me to the ground in a huge hug. She started crying at this point and kept saying “you’re back, you’re back, I can’t believe you’re back!”
“Gwen, what are you talking about? I’ve been with you this whole time, besides being in my room all night.”
I’m so confused as to what she is talking about right now, It’s like she hasn’t seen me for weeks. Her head snaps up in an instant.
“W-what? I- you-. This can’t be right.” She’s starting to hyperventilate and looking around frantically. “Finney, what day is it?”
“Uh, it’s Wednesday?” She’s starting to freak me out a bit, but I’m worried for her. “Hey Gwen, did you have one of those dreams again? You have been telling me about them for a few days now.”
She stops looking around and locks eyes with me, she nods her head slowly and gets up with a shaky and weak posture. As she walks away, I’m just shocked and don’t really understand what's going on. I get up off my bedroom floor and grab my hair brush to continue my morning routine.
—---------
“You ready to head off to school?”
I walk up to Gwen and tilt both my body and head to the side. She nods her head and gets up from the dining table taking her plate and dropping it into the sink. We grab our backpacks and head out the door and as we’re walking, talking about nothing in particular.
I can see a figure running towards us rather fast. I panicked and tried to move out of the way so they could pass without a problem but they rushed at me and I’m on the ground once again, this time it isn’t my sister. What is with people and tackling me today!? It was Robin, Jesus, did something happen to me in my sleep?
“Uh hey Robin? What’s up?” I look up at him with an awkward smile. He’s hugging me so tightly too, I swear hes trying to squeeze the life out of me, though it does feel kind of nice having Robin hug me and have him so close, I felt honored to have him as a friend.
“Finn, do you.. Really not remember anything?” Robin looked so shocked and hurt?
“Uhm, remember what?”
Robin immediately got up and off of me, reaching his hand out for me to grab, he hoisted me up to my feet and looked over at Gwen and then back to me.
“The Grabber? You don’t remember him?” At this point I can feel both their eyes on me, Gwen looked over at Robin and shook her head, as if they understood one another.
“Who or what the fuck is The Grabber? Am I forgetting something important?” Robin and Gwen both look at me and shake their heads simultaneously.
“It’s nothing, just wanted to know if you remembered that movie I told you about.” Robin smiled slightly as he put his arm around my shoulder and we bagan walking again.
“Oh, yeah no I don’t really recall you ever mentioning that movie.”
We all continued walking towards school, I’m pretty sure I will be ending up with a bruise after being tackled twice in the span of an hour. Something is up with Robin and Gwen and I don’t get what it is, they’re acting weird, well Gwen is always weird, it’s Robin that’s worrying me because he has never really hugged me before today.
Robin and I only share two classes, maths and english, and I help him with his math homework on Thursdays and sometimes on the weekends if he really needs it. He has been kind of glued to my side since this morning, sitting next to me in class and actively seeking me out in the hallways after class anytime we didn’t share classes.
It was now lunch and I was sitting down at the back of the cafeteria with Robin right next to me. It was then I saw Vance Hopper walking towards our table, none of us had really interacted besides that one time Robin and Vance got into a fight. Pretty sure afterwards he had gained some form of respect from Vance because of that.
“Finney Blake, the hell happened?” He yelled quietly as to not garner too much attention from the people around us. I stare back, how the FUCK does Vance Hopper know who I of all people am!?
“Look, I- I am sorry if I did anything to offend you, I don’t want any trouble.”
I was paralyzed with fear as he began to look at me with an obvious puzzled look. He looked over my head to look at Robin who again only shook his head as if they understood each other telepathically.
“Hey man, let’s talk outside for a sec. Finn, you wait here.” Robin stood up and walked with Vance out of the cafe. Why is absolutely everyone around me acting so weird today? Do I have amnesia or something?
I was left confused for a while until I saw Donna approach me, my heart immediately leaped out of my chest, she's been my crush for the past five months and I could never talk properly when around her, I had only talked to her in science class when we were paired as partners.
“Hey Finney, what are you doing here on your own?”
She wore a soft smile on her face as she spoke to me, my face flushed as I met her eyes and tried smiling as well even though I think I looked goofy doing it. She giggled and sat down next me all while putting her hand on my shoulder.
While she and I were conversing, like actually talking and having a decent conversation. I see the two that ventured off earlier during lunch. They walked up towards us in the middle of us talking and interrupted us. The faint smile that I could see on Robin faden when he spotted me and Donna.
“Hey girly, move.” Vance snarled at Donna.
Donna quickly got up and ran back to her friends, the two boys sat down on either side of me. I was too scared to even think of why Vance was eating his food next to me right now. Gwen would flip her lid if she knew I was hanging around ‘pinball Vance’ and didn’t get beat up
—---------
The day was over and Vance announced he needed to leave and find a few people, it was a bit vague but also specific? Vance was surprisingly calm and nice to be around, he and I were in most classes together and he sat either in front or behind me.
Robin insisted that he and I went to his house to hang out, and Gwen was nowhere to be seen, probably went to Suzies for a bit. Robin had his arm around my waist as we walked to his place, it was weird since he’s never done things like this. We soon reached our destination and walked in. His mom was talking to him in Spanish so I had no clue what they were discussing.
“Hijo, ¿qué hace Finney aquí? Aún no es jueves.” All I could make out was my name and the word son.
“Lo invité porque quería pasar el rato con él, mamá.”
“Oh bien, bueno ustedes dos diviértanse. Y si planeas que se quede a pasar la noche, házmelo saber primero para saber cuánta comida cocinar.” She smiles at both of us and walks out of the room.
Robin grabbed my hand and we went up to his room, he had me sit down on his bed as he went into his closet to grab a few things presumably. He turned to me and threw some clothes at me.
“You can change in my room, I’m gonna go change in the bathroom down the hall.” He left the room soon after. And I did as I was told and started to change into the clothes he gave me. He had given me a grey T-shirt, dark blue hoodie and some grey shorts. He opens the door, and seeing him without his signature bandana was an odd sight. I was kind of happy I got to experience it.
“So I take it I'm now spending the night?” I wiggle my eyebrows jokingly.
“Yep, I felt like it was time to take our friendship to the next level.” He looked at me with a smile and a hint of seriousness hidden in there. Creepy how my mind would overthink to that extent.
We stayed in each other's company all night and Robin insisted that we sleep in the same bed so that no one had to sleep on the floor.
Today truly was a weird day, but it ended on the best note. Can’t complain.
