Ignoring the Warning

Work Text:

Barnabas T. Bullion was not a happy man.

He’d written to his oldest friend, Jason Chandler, to help him with his mining. Not to stop it completely.

And now he’d got Madame Zarkov involved in this?

They were just trying to get him to stop prospecting for no good reason.

Well, yes. There had been a few little earthquakes. His partner Henry had been killed, leaving him the sole owner of the Big Thunder Mining Company. And Jason himself had almost been killed.

But the incidents weren’t that big a deal. Not really.

Besides, Barnabas, as the president of the Big Thunder Mining Company, had a responsibility to keep the money flowing to Tumbleweed somehow. And there was Rainbow Ridge. And Thunder Mesa.

He wasn’t about to just abandon these towns’ only industry and leave the people to dry.

Or the gold within the mountains. For his own reasons - selfish as they might be.

Forget Jason. Forget Madame Zarkov.

And forget the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. If this was the way his compatriots were going to treat him, Barnabas would sooner never see most of them again.

Especially if he would continue to mine the Big Thunder Mountain range.

Notes:

This is actually the first direct sequel I have written for any story in the Disney Parks series. It was highly requested, so here it is.
