U.S.A. - Heroes of Today

Summary:

While we know what our main heroes are doing, what about others? What about people in the U.S.?
Well, this is their story.

Notes:

Word of warning, I have absolutely no knowledge of the MHA Vigilante series, so don't expect many things from there to make an appearance. Also, I am completely new to this, so any suggestions or advice is more than welcome! Other than that, enjoy!

Chapter 1: The Reasons They're Needed

Chapter Text

Two children were laughing, playing with some basic cars. The room they were in was very bland, lacking anything of notice or importance. It was all white, with only one door with locks on both sides.
“Sis, I WIN! I WIN!” a young boy shouted gleefully as he threw his hands into the air, grinning. His hair was dark, starting black at the roots but fading into a red-tinged black at the ends. His skin was pale, and his eyes were wild. They were a bright, vibrant yellow, seeming full of life. He was wearing what appeared to be a basic, white shirt and gray shorts. The only noticeable thing about his outfit was the gloves that covered his entire hand, all the way up to his elbow, with straps on it, appearing to be made to never be taken off.
“That’s not fair!! You always win!!” the other child, a girl, responded, pouting. Her hair was white, with tints of silver spread throughout. Her eyes were a vibrant, bright sky blue. Her skin was even paler than her brothers, appearing almost sickly. She appeared to be wearing a white hospital gown. She was wearing the same kind of gloves as her brother, only they seemed to be in much nicer condition.
“Only because I’m better than you!”
“No you’re not! You always cheat! It’s not fair!”
They continued arguing for a while, their fighting never ceasing. A loud knock on the door of the room startled them, both of them ceasing to talk. The door opened, a large, elderly man balding at the head, walked through.
“You two need to learn when to SHUT UP!!” He shouted, before rushing forwards and grabbing the girl. She yelped, before getting promptly slapped across the face. The boy’s eyes were livid, his body shaking uncontrollably with reafe, although he did nothing. The man walked out, dragging the girl with him. She started struggling after they had left the room, tears falling down her face. Her brother was following, seeming tense as he watched, yet couldn’t do anything.
They walked out of the room and into what appeared to be a laboratory of sorts. There were tables everywhere, different vials and vats of chemicals everywhere. They were walking towards the end of the room, where a door with a deadbolt and keypad stood. Upon seeing this, the girl started struggling even more, starting to panic.
“LET ME GO!! PLEASE!!” She shouted.
The man stopped, before turning around, glaring at her over his spectacles.
“It would seem that you need to be reminded of just what you are, you pathetic-” He grabbed her other arm, before lifting her into the air, “-EXCUSE OF A HUMAN!!!” He shouted as he threw her through the air, the girl flying for mere seconds before colliding with a table, sending it crashing backwards into the wall, before it fell over. The girl shrieked at the pain of the impact. Various different chemicals and substances spilled onto the floor, a low sizzling able to be heard. The boy’s eyes widened in shock, before he ran over to his sister, checking up on her. He picked her up, carrying her away from the table, away from him. The man sighed as he looked at the mess, the children avoiding his notice.
“Look at the mess you’ve made, how disgraceful…” He turned away, before hearing something like sparks. He turned around, looking at the chemicals on the floor. The girl was gone, and so was the boy. The man paused, looking around carefully. The chemicals emitted a loud pop, before flames erupted, engulfing the table and wall in mere seconds. The man's eyes widened, before he screamed.
The boy ran through the flames, his clothes catching fire, the flames eating away at everything in seconds. The gloves were nothing more than a mess of leather and heated iron now, as the boy ran towards the man, a crazed look in his eyes. The gloves had completely melted off his fingers and palms, leaving them wide open, skin exposed to the wonderful, burning air. He reached his hand out towards the man's face and the scientist stood there in shock, realizing what was happening moments too late. The man screamed, the child laughed maniacally. It was over seconds after the last finger made contact with the old scientist's face.
Other scientists ran over, seeing the flames, before they turned tail and ran, only one hesitating a single moment. The boy gave chase, his skin, his hair, his eyes, everything catching fire, but he didn’t stop chasing them.

“-as the building burned to the ground, only 18 of the original 27 scientists made it out of the building. The fire was reported to have started at around 5:30 this morning, the building falling to the ground a mere 29 minutes later. Firefighters are now doing a search and rescue mission to find any possible survivors in the rubble of this 4 story tall building. This is Amanda Aberdene, your on the spot news reporter.” The TV was promptly shut off, a sigh escaping the watcher.
“Just great…Of course it finally happened, they escaped, didn't they…oh well, I’ll be dead before they can touch me…” He said as he got up, grabbing his cane and walking out of his office, the smell of smoke wafting over him as he passed through the rubble, and right past the emergency responders. He smirked slightly as he vanished.
