Tilly is terrified when she’s told to take a spacewalk, her fears only easing when Michael admits she will be coming with her. Things go wrong quite often and Tilly knows how dangerous spacewalks can be… but she doesn’t ask to be let out. She goes. She walks through space with Michael at her side and slowly but surely begins to believe that maybe, just maybe, she will be okay. Maybe this time things will go right. It’s only when they get back inside Discovery that she realises Michael went purely to keep her calm, her smile soft when they finally get back to their shared room even as she moves to kiss her cheek.
“Thanks Michael.”
