Work Text:
Tracking through the snow, Tad let out an exasperated sigh and plopped down into the snow to protest.
"I can't go on any more," he whined. "You should just leave me out here to die alone. #yolo"
It'd been at least a full day, and he hadn't even seen any sign of civilization. Well, except for his rugged guide, of course.
"It's only another mile at most," Ralph assured him. "Come on, give me your hand. We'll walk closer together for warmth."
Tad shivered as his hand touched Ralph's, and the older man pulled him to his feet. His manicured nails brushed against Ralph's calluses, showing the starkly different paths their lives had taken up to this point. And yet... here they both were now. In this moment. Tad stepped closer into his companion's space, and blushed as he felt the warmth of his breath.
"I was supposed to be celebrating my engagement already." Tad pouted. "Snuggling warm in my penthouse suite and taking kissy photos for the 'Gram. Not... stuck here."
Ralph squeezed his friend's hand.
"You know, up here in the mountains, we always say you gotta take what life get's ya. I aint about those "insty-grams" or whatever, but that doesn't mean you have to give up on getting what you want."
Tad stopped walking and looked up at him in surprise.
"Are you suggesting... I couldn't! Cheaters always loose followers," he said. "At least at first..." He added after he thought about it some more.
"Hey. What happens in the mountains, stays in the mountains." Ralph stated bluntly.
Tad thought it over for a second before nodding once in agreement.
"You're right. Sierra could hardly blame me when we're all alone like this."
Tad leaned in a cupped the mountain man's face in his cold hands. He wanted to go slowly, so he'd have time to savor the moment.
"Oh for the love of..." Ralph said exasperated, then closed the gap between them pressing their lips together.
Hmm, he tastes like fish Tad thought as they kissed.
Finally, the two men pulled apart. Ralph nodded solemnly.
"Well, we better get going if we want to get out of here. Maybe tonight we can fulfill the rest of your plans," he said as he winked.
Tad barely had time to process that statement before he was pulled along. Further into the woods, head spinning and heart fluttering.
