It was Christmas and the Rooster was aware of it.
Okay, it wasn’t quite Christmas, but it was pretty close to it.
He was scavenging the leftovers from the Garden Grill restaurant, as the Cast Members cleaned up to Christmas carols. What the Rooster could make out was The Holly and the Ivy. At least he was pretty sure of it, but not a hundred percent.
Not that it mattered.
What did matter was that if it was indeed Christmas, then he needed some Christmas presents. For his best friend, the Farm Dog. And another one so he could pitch woo to the Hen.
He could think of no better present than leftovers for the Farm Dog.
Disney Magic worked in funny ways. He could read English, but due to being a chicken, he could not speak it.
That meant he could read the menu and pick out some great menu items that he could try and find as leftovers for a Christmas meal with the Farm Dog.
As for the Hen?
He went into the forbidden area, the Greenhouse. If the guests that came through were willing to risk getting into trouble with Disney to take the cucumbers here, they just had to be good.
So, he picked out the biggest cucumber he could find, and carried and dragged it back to the Jones Farm scene. And he put it on the ground in front of the Hen, who was visiting her friends at the henhouse.
The Hen looked down at the cucumber and rubbed her beak up against the Rooster. The Rooster rubbed his beak against the Hen and they both began to coo.
He’d done it. Given her a great gift she loved.
It was too bad he’d have to go through it again in eleven days.
