Tied up and left discarded on the cold wooden floor. There were other people in the room in a similar predicament.

Spade scowled when he attempted to be incorporeal to slip out of the cuffs. Unfortunately for him, he was wearing unique cuffs to keep his kind/ghosts tied up.

"There's gotta be something ironic about this,"

A young girl, Amy, woke up. "Where are we? Why are we here?"

"Kid, those questions are pretty useless. Look around; we're tied up, so we wouldn't know where we are; we don't know why we're here but based on these shackles and ropes, my assumption would be we've been kidnapped. So please do us all a favor and shut up,"

Spade rolled his eyes. "Blue, that was harsh,"

Blue rolled her eyes. "Wake up; nothing is sunshine and rainbows. Get with the program, and if you can't, Darwinism is sure to take care of that,"

"Okay, that's worse," Morgan pipped up from over by the chair.

Blue scoffed. "How is that worse?"

"Darwinism is literally killing or be killed like you're saying only the strong and adaptable will survive,"

Blue hummed. "Yeah, the younger, the better adaptable unless you're stubborn and then don't expect much,"

"Wouldn't you then expect someone stubborn to keep on living?"

Blue shrugged as best she could. "I guess, but then it would depend on what areas you're stubborn in,"

Spade sighed. Amy quietly listened as the discussion as it shifted.

The door to the room opened, and the two glanced over at the three masked kidnappers.

"Hey guys," Spade called, trying to warn them.

Blue didn't pay him any mind. "Plus, in most situations, stubborn people are the reason such situations happen,"

"I disagree immensely," Morgan replied, ignoring Spade completely.

Hoodie dragged Cassie over to the discussion and dropped her.

"Rude," she murmured.

The discussion ended as a body quite literally crashed in between them.

Morgan looked up. "Oh look, the kidnappers are here,"

Amy whimpered.

Masky rolled his eyes under his mask. "Since you're all up anyway, you've been selected for the proxy trials. Win, and you'll survive, lose, and Darwinism will do its job," he sneers down at Blue.

Blue glares. "I see Darwinism skimped on you,"

Masky snarled and reached to choke her; Hoodie sighed as he held his partner back. "She's just riling you up; you know this,"

Masky growled and stomped away. "Fucking bitch,"

"You would know!" she called back.

Hoodie glares at her. "I hope you don't survive,"

"Same," she grins, but her smile is more sinister.

Spade sighs as the three kidnappers leave. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Blue grinned. "Just providing distractions for Cassie," she nods to the girl.

Cassie, in question, looks back at all the sudden eyes on her. "Look, if we wanna get out of this, I have to be able to get these off," she holds up the cuffs similar to Spades. "That way, we can escape,"

Morgan glanced over at Blue. "Oh, you're good,"

Spade huffed a sigh. "Cassie, please get these off,"

Cassie shrugged, pocketing the cuffs, and crawled over to him, already working on getting the key into the lock. "You'd think they wouldn't have such tech, but they are getting better at this game," she shrugs.

"How long?"

Cassie shrugged. "It's difficult to tell must be an alternate dimension, one that targets people in different worlds, and by worlds, I mean-"

"Dimensions, yes, I figured,"

Cassie nodded, the cuffs fell off, and Cassie caught them too, slipping them into a bag she kept under her kefta.

Amy stayed still as Morgan got out of his rope and began cutting through Amy's ropes.

Cassie helped pull Blue straight through her shackles.

Blue smiled. "It's cool to see you exhibiting these abilities,"

Spade glanced over. "So she phases through things. That's not surprising,"

Cassie shrugged. "Sure, so these walls are lined with dampening on my powers. I can't get us out of here," she glanced over to Spade. "You can't phase out either,"

Spade scowled. "Then we fight,"

Cassie snorted. "Sure, but they confiscated my sword, and the girl doesn't have any training,"

Amy frowned. "Like fight with our hands or use things?"

Morgan shrugged. "I have some hand-to-hand combat training,"

Spade nodded. "Blue, have you ever fought?"

"My words make people want to throw hands,"

"With your hands," Spade sighed.

Blue shrugged. "I am adaptable,"

Spade sighed. "This shit again?"

Cassie was already at the door picking the lock. "I am sorry you guys are here,"

Morgan shrugged. "I figure you've been here for a while, so it's fine,"

Spade realized the double meaning. "Oh," he joined her at the door. "They figured out you summon. They've been using you,"

Cassie glanced over. "As I said, I'm sorry," back to the door, the door clicked open and slid open. "Get going, guys,"

Spade nodded, turning to the group. "Let's go,"

Morgan followed Spade and Blue as they ran, only Amy realized  Cassie wasn't following. "You're not coming?"

Cassie shook her head. "I'm not being tested. You four are. Try and prove Blue wrong. I hope you do win,"

Amy shook her head. "No,"

Cassie dropped into a chair. "Goodness, I really need to get out of here,"
