Mira's voice haunts him.
It's the first thing Arisu has really, coherently, thought of since he accepted her deal. Since all of his friends left.
The distant sound of voices reach his ears as his hands grip the sink as he stares into his reflection. His hair sticks to his face as water and blood drip down it, eyes sagging with bags and clothes a dirty mess. Sighing he stood upright and took a deep breathe. Closing his eyes momentarily as he clenched his teeth before opening them slowly.
Standing to the side, hidden away in the corner's shadows stood Mira. Her ever present smirk lighting up her face as she spoke. Arisu clenched his fist and his teeth hurt from how hard he clenched onto them as he tried to block out her voice.
But, like always, it still crammed it's way in. Just like Chota's, Karube's and everyone else he's failed.
"Haa.. Arisu, don't you think it's such a shame you've turned out this way? I mean, you used to be so interesting and now you've grown dim!"
Her voice rang out in the bathroom as her voice grew in level before bursting out laughing. She shook her head and walked over to him, her figure finally leaving the shadows and entrapping Arisu in memories.
Long black hair and red makeup. A garden of something completely out of touch to any previous game - seemingly harmless and gentle. Mira stood next to Arisu, appraising him silently before giving him a small, seemingly gentle smile. Her eyes creased at the edges and her shoulders hunched up as she leaned against the counter. Hands atop the other as she leaned forward.
She removed her eyes from his figure and stared at herself in the mirror for a few moments. Thinking, waiting for the other shoe to drop much like Arisu was. Before meeting his tired eyes through the reflection. For a moment it seemed like Arisu was alone in a cold, heartless world, with the reflection of a twisted woman staring back at him.
She mimicked his pose. Back straight, hands by her sides, and face grim. Smile no longer gracing her face as she hardens it and as her eyes stare deep into Arisu's. Everything about her pose was a mimic of Arisu while simultaneously being vastly different. Colder and harsher like the winter winds that embrace gentle snow.
"Arisu Ryouhei."
Her voice is quieter, eyes hardening in an unfamiliar way —
('That's a lie.' A voice rings out inside Arisu's head. 'It used to be unfamiliar. Now it's just a reminder of how things are now. Of which choice you picked and the other side of her appearing.' He shakes his head.)
— as she leans forward once more. Her hair moves like gentle waves as she stares Arisu in the eye. Blood starts to drip from her head. "Arisu." She pronounces his name slower this time. A smirk rising to her lips as she digs a sharp nail into his chest.
"Regardless of you accepting my deal, - quite a shocker at that, too. Congratulations. - that doesn't change much does it? Visa's still exist, people still die every day, and you are still alone."
Arisu takes in a shaky breathe as she seems to latch onto his memories and dig them out slowly and painfully.
"And I'm still the game master."
She's gone when he opens his eyes as he gasps for air. Chest heaving with his fist grasping his shirt where a pool a blood slowly stains it. Eyes blurry and face wet and sticky from new and old tears.
