Chapter Text
Alexis and Eli were packing up their cars along with their mom and dad’s cars with all of their stuff for college. The twins had both been accepted to the same school which they were excited about but also wish they were living in separate dorm halls since they had grown up living in the same building their whole lives. Once everything was packed into the cars they all got in their individual cars and drove to Harvard. Once they got there they unloaded the cars and Izzie helps Eli move all his stuff to his room and Alex helps Alexis move in. Once the twins are moved in they all go out to eat and then Alex and Izzie drop Alexis and Eli back at their residence hall and go home. “Hey E, wanna come help me get all my stuff put away and then I’ll help you with yours?” Alexis asked her brother “No.” Eli said and went to walk away “Please E. I need help and my roommate moves in today and I really don’t want to be alone when she gets there.” Alexis looked at him with puppy dog eyes “Ugh i hate when you do puppy dog eyes. Fine I’ll help but only because I don’t want to unpack my stuff by myself and I want to know if your roommate is hot” Eli replied and followed Alexis to her room. Once they got to her room they started putting her stuff away and the door opened “that must be your roommate” Eli whispered to Alexis and in walked Ellis Grey-Sheperd with her mom Meredith and her aunt Maggie “Hi I’m Ellis Grey-Sheperd, I’m your roommate.” Ellis says and looks at Alexis “Hey I’m Alexis Stevens-Karev and this is my brother Eli.” Alexis tells her. “Wait did you say your last name is Stevens-Karev?” Meredith asked “Yeah, why?” Alexis replied confused “Your dad isn’t Alex Karev is it?” Maggie asked “Actually yeah it is” Eli responded “Do you know him?” he asked the three women he didn’t know “Uh yeah me and Meredith used to work with him when he lived in Seattle” Maggie informed them “What about your mom? What’s your mom’s name?” Meredith asked “Isobel but she goes by Izzie” Alexis tells them “oh my god. Your the kids he mentioned in the letter.” Meredith said. Alexis and Eli looked at each other with confused looks “You guys didn’t know about the letter? Did he tell you anything about his life in Seattle after your mom left but before he knew about you guys? Weren’t you guys like five when him and your mom got back together?” Meredith questioned “We have no idea what letter your talking about.” Alexis answered her first question “And yes he told us about his life in Seattle. He told us about how he was married but then he got a divorce and came to live with us because he didn’t know about us before or else he would have been there for our entire lives.” Eli replied answering her second question “and yes we were five when our parents got back together but he obviously didn’t tell us everything like how he had a wife while he was still in Seatlle until we were oder and could understand more about making tough choices for your family and for the people you love. “Alexis responded to her third and final question. Alexis and Eli finished unpacking all of Alexis’s stuff they realized that Alex had left his phone in the dorm. “Hey Lex, I think dad left his phone in here” Eli said picking up te phone from the desk it had been sitting on “Okay I will call mom and let her know so that they don’t get all the way back to Kansas before they realize it’s missing.” Alexis says and calls her mom “Hey sweetie, is everything okay?” Izzie asked when she answered her phone “Hey mom, Eli was helping me finish unpacking and we found dad’s phone sitting on my desk. We figured we would give you a call before you got all the way home before you realized he was missing it.” Aleis informed her mother “Thank you for letting us know honey we’ll come back and get it.” Izzie told her daughter as Alex turned the car around. “Okay we’ll see you soon. Love you bye” Alexis said and hung up her phone turning to her brother “they’re coming back to get it” “okayy cool” Eli says as he sets the phone back on the desk and sits in a beanbag chair Alexis had brought.
