Chapter Text
“Carrier! Carrier!” Two little bots say excitedly. Perceptor looked over the rim of his glasses to see two little bots standing there smiling at him. One’s orange, the other blue. The blue one is holding his pet photovoltaic cat Byte. Neither of the twins have names yet. Getting to their level, Perceptor placed a servo on their helms. The twins smiled more. One thing Perceptor noticed through the bond with his tiny younglings is the large amount of love they’re sending his way. They’re also looking for something. “Did you need something?” Perceptor asked. The blue twin glanced at Byte and hid the lower part of their faceplate with said cybercat. “Brother and I wondering if we have energon goodie cake?” The orange twin asked. “Sure,” Perceptor said. Both twins smile brightly. “Go sit at the table, I’ll get you two a piece.” The twins rush to the table and climb onto their chairs, the blue twin setting Byte onto his lap. Perceptor glanced at the two as he got their cake slices ready. He wondered how it was he ended up so lucky as to end up with these two. The cake was set in front of the twins, who gladly ate it after thanking their carrier.
Slight problem with Tyger Paxian Cybertronian is the fact that there weren’t many outside the city that could understand it. The only reason Perceptor could understand when the twins were talking to him despite being Iaconian is that he learned it. So when bots heard Perceptor and the twins speaking it, there were some looks given. Not like the trio seemed to notice. Or care if they did. At the moment, he’s at the lab with the twins playing nearby yet out of the way.
”So, Perceptor,” Wheeljack said. “Those your two younglings?” Perceptor nodded. “Indeed, they are. Twins, might I add. Split spark.” “What… variant of Cybtertronian are they speaking?” Wheeljack asked. “Tyger Pax,” Perceptor responded. “That’s where they first onlined and were raised most of their lives.” “Ah, I didn’t know you knew Tyger Paxian,” Wheeljack said. Perceptor looked down when something touched his stabilizing servo to see the blue twin standing there looking up at him. Said twin looked in a different direction, causing Perceptor to look over and see that the orange twin had fallen into recharge. And the blue one seemed awfully close to doing so himself. He was picked up by Perceptor, his twin following soon after. Both twins curl up to the scientist and very soon both were recharging.
“Carrier,” the orange twin said. Perceptor looked at the twins to see the orange one holding the offline shell of Byte. Both seemed upset. “She got into something that was left out.” At this point the twins are 10 in human years. “Poor Byte,” Perceptor said and took the photovoltaic cat from the twin. “Will she be ok?” The blue twin asked. He seemed to have been more attached than his twin. “I-“ Perceptor paused a moment. “Don’t think so, you two.” He could feel their sparks breaking through their bond.
Stellar cycles later, Perceptor decided to surprise the twins for their creation day. What did he surprise them with? A Tarnish Ridgeback, a type of cyber hound. The largest breed, at that. This seemed to excite the twins greatly. The first thing they did upon seeing it was give Perceptor a hug, then their new cyber hound. The name they decided on is Kilobyte.
At some point after getting Kilobyte, the twins started working as repair bots. Kilobyte would come with them to locations for extra muscle should they need it.
”Come on, Kilobyte,” the blue twin said, running after his twin. “We are being late for repairing.” Kilobyte barked and followed after the twins as best he could. He is a large cyber hound, after all. As the twins and Kilobyte made their way down to the location, the twins poked fun at each other.
The last thing either twin remembered was something sparking, then Kilobyte charging to try to protect them, then a boom followed by darkness.
