Symbiosis

Summary:

Dark Alice AU bc evil ladies are hot.

Work Text:

The world had gone. There was nothing at all save the distant rustle of wind, the darkness, and the fangs tracing gently over her neck.

Alice was playful now, as she often was after a big meal. She’d come back early, before the moon had kissed the sky’s apex--

“That’s us, my sweet,” she’d whispered, pointing up at the sky on their first night out of Phoenix. “Every night, the moon kisses her way up her wife’s left leg, and then down her right leg. I intend to do the same to you.”

--and the moonlight had laced the slender lines of her with silver as she stood in the door. Her eyes were the color of rich, dark wine, which meant it was safe to leap into her arms, and let that cold little nose burrow deep into her hair, and plant a row of kisses behind her ear.

Now, they were perched in the hayloft, deep enough in the shadows cast by the jagged hole in the roof that there was no light to catch on Alice’s teeth as they drew a dainty line down Bella’s pulse. Squatting tiptoed on the rotted beam, she held her little human like a bride, and nuzzled into the sweet, thumping heat of her.

This was Bella’s favorite, the warm, shivery, giggly feeling of her hunter simply toying with her. The fifteen feet of darkness beneath her held no danger, nor did the ice-cold hands cradling her bum and upper back, nor even the twin points in which all of herself was concentrated hovering lightly above her pulse. Her life belonged to her hunter and no one else.

The twin points pressed in a fraction harder, teasing, threatening to break the skin. At once, Bella let her head go limp, pushing up the bare column of her throat.

Her hunter was too quick for her, and the fangs were gone before her head could thump back. Bella scowled into the darkness.

“Dangerous,” Alice chided, with a quick kiss to Bella’s chin. “You already tempt me far too much for comfort, my sweet darling. Don’t tempt fate as well.”

Perhaps she was right, Bella thought, snuggling into her marble arms. The mouse isn’t supposed to love the smoothness of the cat’s claws, or the softness of her fur, and yet here she was, squirming happily in her hunter’s grip like there was no place else she’d rather be. Maybe she was insane.

“Will you drink from me tonight?” asked Bella, unable to keep the hopeful tone from seeping into her voice.

“Yes,” said Alice, and bent to kiss the underside of her jaw. “But not just yet.”

Bella closed her eyes, trying to memorize the shape of the marble lips against her skin. “Tell me how you did it.”

Alice nipped softly at the spot where her jaw met her neck, and grinned when Bella squirmed in her arms, her breathing growing quick and ragged.

“I ran all day to the city’s edge,” she murmured. “I waited in the sewer until it was dark enough to come out. I knew the party was somewhere downtown, but I didn’t know what building.”

Bella pictured a young Artemis, stalking her prey through the darkened city, her ivory skin shattering the moonlight to pieces.

Alice kissed her way further down Bella’s throat, then, parting her lips, dragged her tongue back up the path she’d made. Without opening her mouth, Bella made a pleased hum.

“I looked around until I saw limousines, and followed them until I recognized someone from my vision. I persuaded her to give me her dress.”

Bella frowned. “Persuaded her how?

The teeth nipped again, closer to her pulse so her breath hitched. “Don’t be jealous, sweet thing.” The hand on her bum squeezed tighter. “You’re the only one who’s more than prey to me.”

Bella’s face grew warm as her hunter whispered more darling things in her ear, kissing her brows, her eyelids, her blushing cheeks until she was settled.

“The dress was lovely,” Alice sighed, closing her eyes. “A blue satin maxi with a plunge neckline. Shame I had to ditch it.”

Bella hummed. “I wish I could have seen you in it.”

Alice touched her nose to hers. “Perhaps I could take you to a ball in the next city. A nice new fitted jacket for you, I think, then drinks, dinner, and dancing in the penthouse. What do you say?”

“Is this just an excuse to use me as your dress-up doll beforehand?”

“Obviously.”

“Well…alright, as long as you promise to show me a good time.”

She pecked her lips. “It’s a date. Speaking of, I brought you a gift.”

Shifting Bella’s weight so she was balanced on one hand, Alice held her up like a pizza so she could fumble in her jacket pocket with the other.

“I saved her necklace for you,” she said, holding up a diamond choker. “Do you like it?”

Bella smiled, then squinted. “Are those rubies along one side?”

“What? No, it’s all diamonds…oh.”

“So that’s her…”

“Yes, I suppose it is,” said Alice awkwardly, rubbing at the crimson spots with her thumb. “Uh, sorry.”

Bella sighed. “Put it on for me?”

Alice carefully clasped it around her throat, taking her time to trail her fingers up the back of her neck.

“Breathtaking,” she whispered. “Next time we have a bed, I want you to wait for me in it wearing this necklace. Only this necklace.”

Bella’s shy, blushing smile made it impossible not to dive back in for more kisses. Her fingers wound themselves into Alice’s short hair, and held her there for a long while.

“Did you catch him?” Bella asked eventually, when she had to part for breath.

“Yes,” said Alice, laying her forehead to hers as her free hand crept down Bella’s stomach. “Her limo took me to the party. I smiled my way past security, and took the elevator to the top floor.”

There was a snap as Alice’s clever fingers popped the button of Bella’s jeans.

“It was crowded, a load of bigwigs getting drunk on expensive cognac.” Her nose wrinkled. “Ugh! The cologne was unbearable.”

“What did you do?”

“I didn’t know what he smelled like, so I had to find him by sight. I walked around the edge of the room, trying not to draw any eyes.”

“That must have been hard.”

Alice grinned. “You’re a charmer, Miss Swan. A girl should be careful around you.”

Her hand burrowed into her jeans, and started teasing her panties with light, deft strokes.

“Mmmmm,” Bella sighed, stretching like a cat as that delicious tightness began to coil in her belly.

“I found him on the balcony, chatting up some girl, but he lost interest when I smiled at him. Probably did her a favor. He followed me outside.”

She cupped Bella’s mound, taking a moment to feel her warmth, her wetness saturating the silk. The smell of her arousal filled her nostrils.

“I want those pants off, darling,” she whispered, kissing Bella just below the ear. “Lift up your knees.”

She obeyed at once. One slender finger hooked the waistband of her panties as Alice edged her pants past the swell of her hips, then a draft of icy air hit her sex as all at once she whisked them past her knees and into the empty darkness. There was a faint flump as they hit the barn floor, fifteen feet below, followed shortly afterwards by her panties.

Bella only felt the cold air drift over her sex for an instant before the marble hand was covering her again, blowing all other thoughts out of mind, and her head toppled back as her hunter began her sweet work, iron fingers ruthlessly seeking her clit in—oh god!—exactly the right way.

“He thought he was funny,” said Alice, her eyes gleaming as she took in Bella’s pale hips. “He asked me what a nice girl like me was doing in a place like this. So I showed him.”

An ice-cold finger slipped inside her, a palm grinding up against her pearl, and Bella’s whole lower half pulsed with electric need. Her answering gasp turned into a moan as her legs squeezed shut on Alice’s hand, silently demanding more.

“I drank his blood,” she murmured, dropping kisses at random onto her face, her neck, her collar. “I grabbed his head, and turned it head to the side, and sank my teeth into his neck, and I drank and drank and drank until his shirt turned red, and my dress was soaked, and the smell of iron filled my lungs…”

Dangling in air, Bella’s toes curled, her hips jumping and twitching wildly as Alice slipped a second finger inside, then a third, incredible pressure inside making her muscles stretch and spasm and sing. Her arousal dripped from her, falling away like shining raindrops into the empty dark below.

Alice kissed her hungrily then, swallowing all her delicious little noises, and her hand bore down with merciless, unyielding rhythm as the heat within her rose, and rose, and rose….

Bella’s cry was muffled by Alice’s mouth, but her hips rocked so hard that Alice had to swivel her hand to ensure she didn’t fall. Bella clutched frantically at her hunter’s shoulders, and her mouth hung open soundlessly as the heat inside her finally burst.

Alice dragged feather-light kisses over her face as Bella made a series of soft little pants and whimpers into her shoulder, counting silently to herself in her head. Her lips flirted with Bella’s neck, wrapping gently around the frantic little jumps of her pulse,

Bella’s eyes fluttered, her mind vanishing into the rush of sensation. It was tingling, heady euphoria, lightheaded glee to know she was sustaining her hunter, and at once being sustained by her attention, a perfect symbiosis of need. Her flow of moans stuttered, and were broken by a cloud of drunken giggles bubbling from her lips.

The marble fingers tickled gently at her ribs, as though chiding her for laughing, but that only made her laugh harder, but her voice broke on a deep sigh as her hunter’s mouth pulled harder at her pulse.

Alice pulled back, her lips glistening red, and started kitten-licking the little wound she’d made on Bella’s skin.

“You’re sweeter than champagne, darling,” she murmured, pressing a kiss to Bella’s hair. “As much as I look forward to turning you someday, I don’t know how I could live without this taste.”
