Peter Parker meets the Bat fam

Summary:

Something goes wrong during the spell at the end of No Way Home, instead of everyone forgetting Peter Parker and getting sent back to their universes, the spell also sends Peter to a new universe.

Stuck in Gotham with no money, legal identity, no way home(ha ha see what i did there), and struggling to deal with all the pent up trauma he has been harboring, Peter must find new footing in a universe completely different to his.

*This is not and never will be beta read so just point out errors and inconsistencies in the comments so I can l fix 'em*
*egregious use of commas by the way, I use commas way to much*

Notes:

I have never written a fanfic before so this has no planning or upload schedule. I am just writing this as I go along, enjoy I guess.

Also let it be known that Peter Parker is NOT a reliable narrator at all.

(See the end of the work for other works inspired by this one.)

Chapter 1: Where the fuck am I?

Chapter Text

If you asked Peter Parker to describe his life in a sentence he would say that it has been “A gradual snowballing of misery.” This roughly means that his life has only gotten progressively worse since he was bitten by that spider at 14. First Uncle Ben gets killed in front of him, then he goes and gets Stark’s attention, causing him to be roped into the accords business,  he hadn’t even known what the accords were at the time for christ’s sake; after the whole accords/civil war drama Tony ignores him for months until he gets, admittedly, a little over his head. Come the time he was 16  he went to go help save the world from Thanos and ended up getting dusted for 5 years just to wake up and immediately have to fight Thanos again and have Tony die in front of him. You’d think that after all of this, he would get a break, but no it actually somehow got even worse.

Quentin Beck decided a great use of his past time would be to make a teenager's life a living hell. Painting him as a villain and murderer before he revealed his identity to the whole world. Making his entire life be upended by the roots, and of course, in his never-ending genius he managed to make things worse. Fucking up stranges spell and breaking holes, in reality, summoning his alternate self's worst villains who were all dead set on killing him for slights that the other Peter Parkers committed. Peter didn’t hold the villain's actions against the other Peter’s anymore, he understood that it wasn’t their fault. It was his, he was the one that caused the rifts to open in the first place after all.  Then after everyone had been cured and Peter was hoping to just rest and process for one goddamned second, Strange said that the cracks were still forming, that he couldn’t keep them at bay for much longer, and since they were here for Peter, the only logical option was to get rid of himself. So, he said his goodbyes to the last few people he cared about and left as the spell started to work.

Leading him to now,  as Peter was leaving he noticed a pulling sensation surrounding his entire body as he stared in horror because, for the second time in his life, Peter saw his own body disappearing before his eyes. Except this time instead of feeling his body be turned to ash, all he could feel was warmness from the light that took over his body. He barely had any time at all to process the implications of what was happening before his entire world was enveloped in light so bright he had to squeeze his eyes shut against it.

Peter woke up with a harsh gasp, flinging his eyes open to take in wherever he ended up. Around him was the overpowering scent that could only be described as city sludge™. He seemed to be in an alley, just a standard alley if you didn’t notice the shadows that seemed a little too dark and all encompassing to be normal. In fact, as Peter focused more he realized that something felt decidedly wrong. Not wrong in the sense of “I’m about to get attacked” but more in the sense of the one time he went over to Ned’s house and Ned had moved all the furniture in his room slightly to the right to see how sensitive his spider powers were. He had noticed the second he had walked into the room. Except instead of just a room being moved slightly to the right it was like every single one of his surroundings had been picked up, rotated, and then set back down. Maybe it was just a side effect of the teleporting? He was just going to go with that if only to preserve the last of his failing sanity.

Peter stood for a few seconds wondering what his next move was going to be. He was still beaten and bloodied and quite frankly in just a bit(a lot) of pain, both mentally and physically, but then again when is he not? That could probably be put on the back burner for a while longer. Wait until he is in a safe and secluded place to have a breakdown. He could feel one bubbling beneath his skin trying to claw its way out, but if there is one thing Peter Parker is good at it’s putting his feelings in a box and locking it away until he has the time to deal with them (spoiler alert: he never has the time).

Here’s the thing, if Peter had known he was going to get magically transported into an alleyway he would have picked up his mask and brought it with him, but as it stands he didn’t do that so now he has to figure out how to get out of an alleyway in his torn to shreds Spider-man suit. Tearing himself from his thoughts he looked at the tall brick walls of the buildings next to him. It was surprisingly quiet for an alley during the day but he isn’t going to think too hard about why that might be. Peter looks left to the opening alley to make sure no one is walking by before launching himself up onto the wall and starting his climb to the roof. Maybe it was the spider DNA he had picked up when the spider had bitten him, but he always felt safer when he was high up.

Actually, now that he thought about it, it was definitely the spider DNA. He had hated heights as a child. He couldn’t even make himself go on the monkey bars during recess, but that was neither here nor there, he had bigger problems at the moment. Mainly figuring out where he was and how he was going to get home. Despite the twinges of pain and protest he got from his back, shoulders, and ribs. Peter eventually made it to the roof of the building. It wasn’t anything remarkable really, a door leading to the inside of the building, the air conditioning units, some old cigarette butts, and empty beer bottles. But it was good for his purposes, Peter walked to the edge of the building that faced the street hoping to get a sense of where he was, but what he did see was not something he had ever seen anywhere in Queens or New York. Standing the tallest out of all the buildings was a high-tech tower with the words “Wayne Enterprises” in big letters attached to the side of the building.
