Summary:

the avengers startle Peter

Chapter Text

Peter Parker sat in his room at the Avengers compound, trying to focus on his homework. But as he read through his textbook, he couldn't help but feel antsy. He knew that his spider-sense was tingling, telling him that danger was lurking somewhere nearby.

Just then, there was a knock on his door. "Hey Peter, it's me, Steve," Captain America called out.

Peter quickly got up to let Steve in. "Hey, what's up?" he asked.

"I just wanted to check in on you and see how you're settling in," Steve said, looking around at the room.

Peter smiled nervously. "I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Just trying to get through some homework."

Steve nodded. "That's good to hear. Listen, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're all here to help you out."

Just then, Peter's spider-sense went haywire. He looked around, trying to figure out what was causing it. Suddenly, he saw movement out of the corner of his eye.

Before he could react, a figure came crashing through his window. It was Thor, the god of thunder.

"Sorry, Peter," Thor said, looking sheepish. "I was trying to make a grand entrance."

Peter shook his head, trying to catch his breath. "It's okay, Thor. But please, next time just knock."

Thor nodded, looking a little embarrassed. "Of course, Peter. My apologies."

Peter sighed, feeling a little frustrated. He knew that his spider-sense was going to keep getting him into trouble if his teammates kept startling him like this.

The next day, Peter was walking through the Avengers' gym when he felt his spider-sense go off again. He looked around, trying to figure out what was causing it. Suddenly, he heard someone sneaking up behind him.

Before he could react, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, leapt out from behind a piece of equipment.

"Boo!" she shouted, laughing.

Peter yelped, jumping backwards in surprise. "Natasha, what the heck? You scared me!"

Natasha grinned. "Sorry, kiddo. I couldn't resist."

Peter shook his head, feeling a little irritated. "Please, just stop sneaking up on me like that. My spider-sense can't take it."

Natasha nodded, looking contrite. "I understand. I'll try to be more careful from now on."

Despite Peter's annoyance, he couldn't help but feel a little grateful to have such caring teammates. He knew that they were all just trying to make him feel welcome and included.

As the days went on, Peter continued to hone his spider-like abilities. He was getting faster and stronger every day, and his spider-sense was becoming more finely tuned.

But no matter how powerful he became, he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was always lurking just around the corner, ready to startle him again.

Peter sighed, feeling a little exasperated. But deep down, he knew that he wouldn't trade his life as Spider-Man for anything in the world.
