Chapter Text
“I can’t believe I have to do homework…” Lan Hikari sighed as he rolled onto his face.
“Maybe if you’d listen to me for once, you wouldn’t have to worry about doing homework when you aren’t feeling good.” Hub folded his arms. “Oh wait! Maybe if you had listened to me in the first place you wouldn’t be in this predicament.” The older boy glared at Lan who sighed.
“But you always fuss at me….”
“And you never listen!”
“Okay okay I do try sometimes….” Lan dramatically slid off the bed and onto the floor.
“Well you should’ve tried harder today! Six hotdogs before dinner is not a good idea.”
“But I was hungry Hub,” Lan said as he pulled out his wrinkled homework. “And it’s one thing to have to do homework, but it’s another to do it when you feel bad. And doing homework on the weekend should be illegal.”
Hub shook his head. “Try listening to your big brother next time. And don’t ask me for homework help! You’re on your own!” The older twin waved as he turned around.
“Ah wait! If Mama finds out I didn’t do my homework I’m in big trouble!! She’s scary when she smiles and scolds you! Don’t leave me when I’m in need!” Lan made sure to stretch out all the syllables of need.
“Nice try Lan.” Hub turned around. “You’re smart enough to do it on your own. And the more time you waste pleading with me could be time spent resting from your self induced stomachache.”
“But math is so hard…”
“Have fun! You know I’m right.” And with that, Hub left Lan to begrudgingly work through his partially crumpled up homework that he almost always forgot about.
“Alright class! Please turn in your homework assignments.” Ms.Mari motioned at her desk. Most of the students got up and sat their papers down on her desk.
“Oh my gosh, Lan actually did his homework!” Mayl gasped..
Lan sighed as he got up and handed his paper in.
“I know it was you Hub, did you threaten him?” The redhead nudged the older boy.
Hub laughed. “Nope, Lan stayed up all night working by himself. I was not staying up with him.”
“The fact that you were able to convince him is an amazing feat in itself,” Mayl nodded as Lan flopped down in his chair tiredly.
“I’m going to sleep now. That stomach ache kept me up all night. I’m so sleepy...” Lan yawned and laid his head on his desk.
“Eh?!” Mayl cried in disbelief. “It never ends with him!”
“Oh no you’re not going to sleep! Wake up Lan!” Hub shook Lan but that fast he had gone to sleep. “Why do I always have to fight with you about this??!”
