Work Text:

Prismarina was so excited to show her friends around the coven she started.

She had spent so long building the coven from the ground up, turning the barren hill side into a witch’s paradise with any you could ever need.

She had given out invitations to a bunch of her fellow witches in the trials with her, in hopes that at least one of them would accept.

You can imagine the overwhelming joy that she felt when she received word back from Joey, the fire-frost witch, and Cleo, the time witch, confirming that they were coming to see if they wanted to join her coven.

Pris walked over to just next to the waystone. She stood waiting for the others to arrive. It was just about noon when Joey arrived.

“Hello Water Witch!” He said with his signature enthusiasm that he greeted everyone with, or everyone he was on good terms with at least.

“Hi Joey!” Pris said. She was smiling ear to ear. She was incredibly happy that he had followed through with his word and come. While she hadn’t doubted that he would come, the nagging fear was always there.

Not long after this Cleo would arrive, Scott trailing behind her.

“Oh! Hey Cleo, don’t mean to be rude but why is Scott with you?” Pris said. She was confused due to the fact that Scott hadn’t told her that he’s coming.

“Hello, straight to the point are we?” Cleo said jokingly. “Scott’s my plus one. Don’t you remember that you said that we could bring a plus one?”

Pris in fact did not remember saying that Cleo could bring a plus one, but she didn’t want to risk losing a potential coven member over something that she could easily be wrong about.

“Oh, alright. Well ready to head inside everyone?”

.

Everything was going so wrong.

It had been going fine, everyone who arrived had agreed to join her coven, and they were all hanging out in the basement having a wonderful time.

Scott had decided to use his ability of going invisible and phasing through walls in an attempt when he saw something he shouldn’t have.

Scott accidentally phased through the floor when he fell into a second basement underneath the one they were in. He quickly phased back to everyone else so that he could warn the others.

“Uhh, guys you probably want to check out the second basement.” Scott said.

“What second basement?! There’s no second basement!” The Water Witch said in a panic. As far as Pris was aware there was only the basement that they were currently in.

“There’s a second basement?” Joey exclaimed.

“No there’s not!” Pris said defensively.

“I can show you,” Scott said before mining a few blocks out of the floor, revealing what appeared to be a torture chamber, with three heads on a table in the corner, the head of The Nature Witch, The Fire-Frost Witch, and The Storm Witch.

“What the hell is this?! Why do you have this, you little freak?!” Joey said while entering the room. “Why the fuck is my head here?!?”

“Why do you have this?” Cleo said, very glad she brought Scott along with her.

“Guys I didn’t make this! I swear!” Pris said, panic clear in her voice. She genuinely had no idea why this was here or who made this.

“Oh, so it just happens to be under the coven that you built?” Scott said mockingly.

“I promise that it wasn’t me who made this! You have to believe me!”

“And why should we believe the witch who has severed heads in her basement?” Joey questioned.

“I think maybe we should leave,” Cleo says to the others.

“I agree,” Scott says, turning to walk away.

“For once I agree with The Death Witch.” Joey says.

The other three witches leave.

As Pris watches them go back to their homes, she can’t help but let her tears fall down her cheeks freely; she saw no point in containing them.

She closed off the mystery dungeon and went back to the main floor of the building she had created.

The Water Witch sat down on one of the couches that she had placed there and pulled her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly.

She choked out a sob as she thought of what this coven could have been. She had placed each block one by one in order to create a place where her and her fellow coven members would have been able to feel safe and practice magic freely, but her hopes had crumbled the moment the other witches left.

Pris had been crying on the couch for a solid ten minutes before she heard the sound of someone approaching the coven.

“Pris!” The person called out, now being recognised as Shelby, The Storm Witch.

“Pris!” Shelby called out again, dragging out the s. She hadn’t entered the actual house yet, due to the fact that she was still climbing the incredibly long staircase. “Pris I found a spell that I need your help with. I found this spell to summon a really big storm and I think-”

Shelby had cut herself off as soon as she entered the cabin. Shelby had walked through the doorway to find the pink haired girl frantically trying to wipe tears off her face.

“Pris, are you okay?” Shelby said while walking over to sit next to Pris on the couch.

Pris mumbled something incoherent in between shaking breaths.

Shelby reached up and brushed a strand of pink hair out of The Water Witch’s face.

“Can I give you a hug? You look like you definitely need it.”

Pris gave a nod to The Storm Witch.

Upon confirmation, Shelby reached over and wrapped her arms around the girl. Pris leaned into the touch and leaned her head onto Shelby’s shoulder.

Shelby ran her hand through Prismarina’s long pink hair in an attempt to calm her.

The attempt to calm her certainly worked as Pris’s breathing returned to a steady stable pace after a while.

When Shelby noticed that Pris was no longer crying, she spoke up. “You don’t have to, but would you like to tell me what happened?”

Pris shook her head. She didn’t know how she would explain that there was a torture chamber that had mysteriously appeared underneath her build.

“That’s alright,” Shelby said.

The two witches sat together like this on the couch long past when the sun had set.
