Work Text:
Alex couldn’t believe it. It has been about a day since he found out and he still couldn’t believe it. He actually got the distinct honor of being adopted into the Toadstool family. Of all the residents in the Mushroom Kingdom Peach looked through in the orphanage, he was the one chosen.
He was escorted through the castle by the Toads and it was right at the top where he saw… her.
“Why hello there, Alex.”
Peach. She was there to greet him with her lovely pink dress, her sweet sing-song voice and her beautiful long blonde hair.
“Pleased to meet you, y-your highness.”
Alex quickly bowed. It wasn’t very good, and it made him cringe and Peach giggle.
“No need to be so formal with me. We’re going to be family. Why don’t you come with me to my room.”
“Okay.”
It wasn’t long before Peach and Alex made their way to the former’s room. It was far less pink than the latter thought.
“I will make sure your room will be ready before you go to bed tonight. Now I got your clothes right here.”
She quickly made her way over to her closet and pulled out something that made Alex raise an eyebrow.
It was a dress.
It was fairly similar to Peach’s own dress, albeit with a few differences. The skirt was a bit shorter going from pink to a dark red on the bottom of it. The brooch on the center of the dress was the exact same color as the bottom of the skirt rather than a bright blue. The sleeves were also a bit more poofy too.
Alex could feel a bit of sweat dripping down his forehead. He knew who that dress was meant for.
“What do you think? I got this just for you.”
“I-I can’t wear that. I’m a guy.”
“You don’t need to worry about that. This would fit you much better than those dull clothes you are currently wearing.”
“Don’t you have anything fit for a prince?”
“Nonsense. We don’t have anything like that for you. You’re clearly too girly. Now let’s get you out of those pants and into something more fitting for you. Let me help.”
With a snap of Peach’s fingers, Alex’s clothes began to glow bright pink. Before he could even begin to question what was going on, the dress Peach was holding slammed right into him, completely enveloping him. When he could see again, he knew his clothes were gone and he could feel the dress in their place.
There were a few other things he noticed too that he was wearing alongside the dress. The pantyhose, the dark red mary janes, the short white gloves and the big pink bow on his head. Even though he couldn’t see them, he could feel the training bra and panties underneath his dress.
“Absolutely perfect! Now, was all that fussing really worth it to stay in those dirty old rags you’ve been wearing”
“B…but I’m a boy…”
“So, you say,” Peach giggled. “But do you think in all those times I’ve played damsel in distress, I wouldn’t know when you only pretend to fight it, “little sister”?”
“Little sister?”
“Of course,” Peach said. “It suits you perfectly. See for yourself.”
Peach gently grabbed Alex’s arm and pulled him over to her nearby full-length mirror.
“But-”
Any objection that ran through Alex’s mind quickly ceased as he got a good glimpse of his reflection. A gasp quickly escaped his lips.
“T-that can’t be me.”
“But it is you,” Peach pulled Alex into a hug. “Stop lying to yourself. We both know you want to be a princess. You want to have that delicate body of yours caressed by soft and pretty dresses, wearing more petticoats than most girls would ever be able to have. You want to wear makeup, make that face perfectly girly and those lips pink and kissable. You want to have a hero sweep you off your feet and into his strong muscular arms, giving those lips a loving kiss. You can’t seriously expect anyone to look at you and believe you don’t want these things, do you?”
He took another look at his reflection. He really did look like a girl. No. Like a princess. But there were some issues that he noticed. His cheeks were awfully red from embarrassment, but there were other bigger issues.
“My hair’s too short.”
“Nothing that a little time and magic wouldn’t fix.”
“But I don’t know how to be a princess.”
“I’ll be more than happy to teach you.”
“But-”
“But nothing,” Peach interrupted. “By the time we’re done, no one will be able to tell you were once a boy.”
Alex turned to his reflection then turned back to Peach. Maybe this princess thing might actually be a good idea? He did look pretty and aside from his red cheeks, significantly more comfortable.
“Can I be Merry, big sis?”
“Why, of course you can, little sis.”
“So that’s why you adopted her?”
Merry gently sipped her tea. Peach was having Daisy over for the first time since she was adopted and the new princess knew she had to be on her best behavior. It wouldn’t be very ladylike of her if she wasn’t.
“Yes,” Peach sipped her own cup of tea. “Some say that there are some boys who make the best princesses and Merry here is proving them right. Once the initial embarrassment wore off and she agreed to become my sister, she took to her lessons like a fish to water.”
“I can tell. She’s such a little lady. I may actually consider getting a little sister myself. There’s this one boy who’s always at the Coconut Mall's premier dress shop, but never with a girlfriend or sister. Obviously a princess in denial. I can just tell that he and Merry will get along well.”
The two older princesses began to giggle and Merry began to giggle as well. She knew she would love to have a friend who’s as girly as her.
