Falling Apart at The Seams

Summary:

Five years after Spencer is fired from the BAU due to his drug addiction and returns home, the BAU runs into him during a case in Las Vegas.

Notes:

This is my first work in over 6 years lol so it might be shit. Spencer gets fired in the middle of season 3. So this would take place around season 8/9.

Chapter Text

The BAU is incomplete. Everyone can feel it. Since they lost Spencer to drugs, nobody is the same. There is this large hole that resides in everybody that can’t be reversed. Hotch is the one who has the largest pit in his heart. All he can think about is  the fact that he could have done something before it got past the point of no return. He is currently sitting in his chair attempting to do his paperwork; but rather thinking about all that could have happened. What if he had helped Reid find rehab instead of ignoring the change in his demeanour? Maybe Reid could have fought the beast instead of succumbing to it. He is pulled out of his thoughts by knocking on his door. Knock Knock. Hotch stands up and adjusts his tie and jacket before opening the door. “Sir, we have a case” JJ informs him. “Alright” he replies. He stepped out of his office, and exclaimed “Everyone we have a case, meet in the conference room.”

Once everyone has made it to the conference room Hotch begins. "There have been 16 murders that have taken place in the last 6 months where the victims have been drugged, raped, and then strangled. They all were given extremely high doses of Dilaudid.” Everyone went silent for a moment, thinking about their old friend. Hotch cleared his throat, “They are only just calling us now because they didn't think it was an issue due to all of the victims being homeless.” “There are similarities to the victims. They are all around the age of 30-35, all of the victims are white with brown hair.” Derek mentions. “The unsub is most likely a drug dealer” JJ exclaims. “Everyone, wheels up in 30.” After that everyone leaves the conference room with a feeling of dread, as they all realise that these victims all resemble what Spencer should look like after all these years.
