Chapter Text
Midoriya izuku was tired, tired was an understatement he was exhausted. kach- bakugo told him to “take a swan dive of the roof and pray for a better quirk in your next life”
'And what was he thinking about doing?' He gave a small breathless laugh at that. Midoriya was sitting on a rooftops edge and looking over.it began to rain a while ago and he didn’t mind he just wants to sit and think.
At some point he doesn’t realize that he can’t feel the rain on his shoulders. he doesn’t realize when a few birds move to stand next to him to get away from the rain
No he didn't he just wants to sit and think about what happened. He just wants to sit and listen to the thunder and watch as the sky gets darker. He thinks about how no one will be worried about him not being home, no one would miss him. He sits there on a roof with a few birds and tears streaming silently down his face and wonders.
Will anyone miss me?

Shota hoped today would be a normal day for patrol but luck is never on his side. The rain was annoying but manageable, hazashi was still mad at him for getting stabbed a few nights back so he is being extremely cautious (by the demands of his husband). He stopped a few muggings and a few drunk people but nothing too major. He’s assumed that tonight was got to be normal and that’s where he’s wrong.
when Shota sees a teenager maybe 13 or 14 sitting on a roof’s edge and there was something strange about the rain around him all hopes of sleep had died immediately,
Shota starts running over the rooftops faster to get to the kid. He starts to run up a rusty fire escape. It creaks after every step he takes but after a few minutes he makes it up to the roof and finally sees what was off about the rain.
It’s not moving. Shota Takes a deep breath he wasn’t aware he was holding in and scans the area around the kid. It’s a semi-large rooftop with a few birds around the kid. Shota looks over at the kid and starts slowly moving towards him. Shota sits down beside the kid and takes a look at his face.
Dark green hair and equally green eyes but something’s wrong about his eyes. It’s not the red puffiness around the eye it’s the darkness he can see in them it looks like his eyes are being blurred out and muted. He has on a school uniform, he doesn’t know which one but it looks from around here.
“Hey kid” Shota says as calmly as he can and his heart breaks watching the kid just keep staring down at the ground bellow.
The kid after a few seconds looks lazily over at Shota and blinks a few time seemingly not noticing him till now ”hello sir..” he says in almost the same dry tone he uses ‘how long has this poor kid been out here for’
“Kid why are you out here?”
“I was too tired to move”
Well that’s not the reply Shota was expecting. He looks over the kid for any signs of him being hurt, after noticing a large burn on his right shoulder he thinks about what to do next.
“Kid do you know you’re using your quirk” the kid looks around and his eyes widen a bit at the stoped rain. “Oh… I’m not so useless after all” the kid said he almost couldn’t hear it but it was just loud enough to hear. “Kid… I need you to back away from the ledge” Shota says trying to get the kid away from the edge to talk. He wants to bundle this kid up in blankets but he is a professional he has to help this kid.
“Sir can I a-ask you something” without waiting for a response he asks “ can someone with a w-weak quick be a hero “
Shota is stunned the few pieces he has where fitting into place “a quirk is a tool nothing more nothing less there is no such think as a weak, heroic or villains quirk it’s the person who decides that, so yes I think someone with a ‘weak’ quirk can be a hero, anyone who says otherwise is stupid”
The kid laughs slightly and says “then a-all might is stupi-“ he cuts himself off with a scared noise.
“kid?”
“N-no I w-wasn’t so post to say anything ”the kid looks on the verge of a panic attack
“Kid I need you too look at me, I’m not mad no one’s mad” the kid looks up at him as the rain around the shakes.
The birds around the squawk in displeasure as the rain starts to move in a sort of circular barrier around the kid. Shota started to panic his quirk didn’t work through the water and the rain that fell didn’t help.
God what is he going to do
